I installed this Mod but I can't remember if we had to edit the posting.php file. Take a look at the install.txt and see, if it is required make sure you double check that you did the edit to posting.php.

I messed up on mine and it was all b/cuz I 4got to edit 1 file.

Good Luck

I'm not a fan of the auth_list ("You can post new topics in this forum", etc) being in the table box when logged out. I looked in templates/subSilver/viewtopic_body.tpl where I think the problem is for how to change this back, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. Anyone else know?

Ack. I just upgraded to 2.0.18 and this mod broke!

Was working perfectly in 2.0.17, but now, there's just a small box where the fast reply should be. <_<;

I was testing installing this mod on a forum on my localhost, and the cookie settings weren't right, so hitting 'preview' made me log out.

changing

Code: Select all

		'S_POSTING' => 'posting.'.$phpEx,
to

Code: Select all

		'S_POSTING' => append_sid('posting.'.$phpEx),
in this mod made it work fine :D

Also, for anyone who's interested: these changes made it hide/unhide the quick reply:
find

Code: Select all

			<td class="catHead" align="center" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle">{L_QUICK_REPLY}</span></td>
in-line find

Code: Select all

{L_QUICK_REPLY}
in-line replace with

Code: Select all

<a href="javascript:hideUnhide()">{L_QUICK_REPLY}</a>
find

Code: Select all

function checkForm() {
	formErrors = false;
	if (document.post.message.value.length < 2) {
	formErrors = '{L_EMPTY_MSG}';
	}
	if (formErrors) {
		alert(formErrors);
		return false;
	} else {
		return true;
	}
}
after, add

Code: Select all

displaying = false;
function hideUnhide()
{
  if(!displaying)
    document.getElementById('quickReply').style.display = 'block';
  else
    document.getElementById('quickReply').style.display = 'none';

  displaying = !displaying;
}
find

Code: Select all

				<form action="{S_POSTING}" method="post" name="post" onsubmit="return checkForm(this)"><span class="genmed">
in-line after, add

Code: Select all

<div id="quickReply" style="display: none">
find

Code: Select all

					<input type="submit" name="post" class="mainoption" value="{L_SUBMIT}" />
in-line after, add

Code: Select all

</div>
this will make all of the quick reply be hidden until you click 'Quick Reply', and then it will display. clicking 'Quick Reply' again will make it all dissappear again

In viewtopic_body.tpl change cols="50" to a number you prefer:

Code: Select all

<textarea class="post" name="message" rows="10" cols="50" wrap="virtual"></textarea><br />
Changing the rows="xx" will change the height.

It's there, it might just be a bit different. For example, the layout is different in SoftBlue as opposed to subSilver. If you look closely at the files, you can get an idea of where it should go. It took me awhile to get it the way I like is SoftBlue, deciding where to place it and not messing up the tables.

Previously, when a user or guest was unable to post, the Quick Reply box would appear empty, in stead of just disapearing. I fixed this:

Open:
/templates/subSilver/profile_view_body.tpl
Find

Code: Select all

  <tr>
	<td width="100%" nowrap="nowrap" colspan="2">
		<table width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1" border="0" class="forumline">
		  <tr>
			<td class="catHead" align="center" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle">{L_QUICK_REPLY}</span></td>
		  </tr>
<!-- BEGIN switch_quick_reply -->

Replace

Code: Select all

<!-- BEGIN switch_quick_reply -->
  <tr>
	<td width="100%" nowrap="nowrap" colspan="2">
		<table width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1" border="0" class="forumline">
		  <tr>
			<td class="catHead" align="center" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle">{L_QUICK_REPLY}</span></td>
		  </tr>

Is there a way to get this mod to work only for registered users?
