If you are using the Disable Board Message MOD, some changes to make to the MOD install file:
The FIND in common.php should be:

Code: Select all

if( $board_config['board_disable'] && !defined("IN_ADMIN") && !defined("IN_LOGIN") )
{
	if ( $board_config['board_disable_msg'] != "" )
	{
		message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, $board_config['board_disable_msg'], 'Information');
	}
	else
	{
		message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, 'Board_disable', 'Information');
	}
}
And the AFTER, ADD in includes/sessions.php should be:

Code: Select all

		//
		// Show 'Board is disabled' message if needed, if not in admin panel, if not logging in,
		// if message_die() hasn't been called yet, and if user is not an admin
		//
		if( $board_config['board_disable'] && !defined("IN_ADMIN") && !defined("IN_LOGIN") && !defined("HAS_DIED") && ($userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN) )
		{
			if ( $board_config['board_disable_msg'] != "" )
			{
				message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, $board_config['board_disable_msg'], 'Information');
			}
			else
			{
				message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, 'Board_disable', 'Information');
			}
		}
The AFTER, ADD in includes/page_header.php should be:

Code: Select all

// If disabled and admin, show Reminder Box below header.
if ( $board_config['board_disable'] && $userdata['user_level'] == ADMIN )
{
	$template->set_filenames(array('board_disabled_box' => 'error_body.tpl'));
	if ( $board_config['board_disable_msg'] != "" )
	{
		$template->assign_vars(array('ERROR_MESSAGE' => $board_config['board_disable_msg']));
	}
	else
	{
		$template->assign_vars(array('ERROR_MESSAGE' => $lang['Board_disable']));
	}
	$template->assign_var_from_handle('BOARD_DISABLE_MSG', 'board_disabled_box');
}
Hope that helps someone (besides me).

This is a minor bug that I get as well. The first page they view is viewed as if the board is not disabled, while any refresh or clicking any link simply shows them the board disabled message.

Aww nuts. My first mod, and I have to be all unprofessional. Oh well. I'm pretty sure this should fix it:

OPEN includes/sessions.php and FIND

Code: Select all

		$login = 0;
		$enable_autologin = 0;
	}
AFTER, ADD

Code: Select all

	//
	// Show 'Board is disabled' message if needed.
	//
	if( $board_config['board_disable'] && !defined("IN_ADMIN") && !defined("IN_LOGIN") && !defined("HAS_DIED") && ($userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN) )
	{
		message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, 'Board_disable', 'Information');
	}
If you're using the Disable Board Message MOD, the AFTER, ADD should be:

Code: Select all

      //
      // Show 'Board is disabled' message if needed
      //
      if( $board_config['board_disable'] && !defined("IN_ADMIN") && !defined("IN_LOGIN") && !defined("HAS_DIED") && ($userdata['user_level'] != ADMIN) )
      {
         if ( $board_config['board_disable_msg'] != "" )
         {
            message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, $board_config['board_disable_msg'], 'Information');
         }
         else
         {
            message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, 'Board_disable', 'Information');
         }
      }

Are those changes now in the Download file or will I need to add your changes here if I choose to install your Mod?

Those changes are NOT in the downloaded file yet.

Since this is my first mod, I am not what sure what I am supposed to do. Am i supposed to resubmit this to the database to be updated? Or is there another procedure for updates and fixes?

edit: These changes are now in the first post download.

You resubmit this to the MOD Database, except you state that the MOD has already been released to the MOD-DB and provide a link to this topic in the next box.

You probably should provide a seperate download link for the update, as the update will need to go through the same validation process before it is approved.

hi vevrybody,
ive installed and performed this mod quiet deeply and it appears not to work correctly with phpbb v 2.0.17.
-If in ACP admin desactivate forum,
after users can still see forum index, portal , viewtopic without being connected (in my board visitors can READ posts) .
And when they try to connect in loginbox, there are still redirected to forum index where there is no DISABLE BOARD MESSAGE (??).

Finally if admin logs, here he can see the DISABLE BOARD MESSAGE, & even in all the pages he will visit.
He can also navigate freely throw the forum and manage as this mod is attended to.

Im sorry, but i dont understand why this mod has been validated by phpbb team .

This mod does not appears anymore on author's site. No moree support??

Well i'll have to uninstall it by now.

See yu for fix :wink:
