Anyone have an active demo? Didn't find a non-broken link. I'm interested to see how this branches out on the index.

What template are you using?

Your problem is most likely in templates/xxxx/index_body.tpl. recheck your edits. If you can't find anything wrong, paste the file into My pastebin so we can look.

thx, i am using subsilver. anyways, i was too impatient and installed a new fresh copy. and installed this mod. it is fine now.

I think I may have found a bug.
When I try to re-order forums when there are no forums in subforum mode, everything works fine.
However, when I turn any forum into a subforum, the forum order doesn't work (but the category order still does...)

If this has already been reported, forgive me, but I don't want to look through every page in this topic. :wink:

It is a known problem, you can rearrange them via the PHPmyAdmin...

Go to phpbb_forums.

Check the headers and you will see a forum_order column.

You will need to adjut the numbers shown there to amend the forum position.

Already known? Right. :P

Indeed, I am aware of how to reorder them through phpmyadmin, as it is what I have been doing. But an actual fix for this so that you can reorder them through the ACP would be nice.

One more trouble... now connecting with search.php.
When I'm trying to search or just "Find all posts by user", I get the following message:

Parse error: parse error in phpBB2\search.php on line 1482

Have you double checked your edits in search.php?

If you can't find the mistake, paste lines 1470 through 1490 here and we can look.

yeap, all changes in search.php checked many times...
line 1470 - 1482 - cause 1482 is the last line

Code: Select all

	'S_CHARACTER_OPTIONS' => $s_characters,
	'S_FORUM_OPTIONS' => $s_forums,
	'S_CATEGORY_OPTIONS' => $s_categories,
	'S_TIME_OPTIONS' => $s_time,
	'S_SORT_OPTIONS' => $s_sort_by,
	'S_HIDDEN_FIELDS' => '')
);

$template->pparse('body');

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/page_tail.'.$phpEx);

?>
maybe 1370 - 1390? :roll:

Code: Select all

		$parent_id = $row['forum_id'];
		for( $j = 0; $j < count($list); $j++ )
		{
			if( $list[$j]['forum_parent'] == $parent_id )
			{
				$row = $list[$j];
				$s_forums .= '<option value="' . $row['forum_id'] . '">-- ' . $row['forum_name'] . '</option>';
				}
	}
}

if ( $s_forums != '' )
{
	$s_forums = '<option value="-1">' . $lang['All_available'] . '</option>' . $s_forums;

	//
	// Category to search
	//
	$s_categories = '<option value="-1">' . $lang['All_available'] . '</option>';
	while( list($cat_id, $cat_title) = @each($list_cat))
	{

Sorry, I didn't realize that 1482 was the last line. In that case the error could be anywhare in the file. You are probably missing a closing brace somewhere. Also make sure you don't have any extra line feeds or spacing after the ?>

Paste your complete search.php into my pastebin so we can look.

I have this MOD working just fine right now.

I have one question, maybe someone here will know the answer to. I am interested in making it so this MOD doesn't show the subforum branches on the index page, but still has the subforums when you click on the forum link.

Any ideas?

^ I tried doing what was noted above, however, it didn't quite work as I was wanting. All that did was list the sub forums on the index page as main forums. I still want the sub forums to work in the way they currently do, just without the listings of subforums under the main forum they branch off from on the index page.
