No it shows xfire but not the msn messenger, when i fill in my msn adress , it doesn't show my msn adress in my profile.
And it's with all themes, so there isn't something wrong with the theme

EDIT: I've found my mistake. I have another forum too, so I took the files in the includes map and uploaded them. MSN was working again so I installed the cfire mod again, and it works

damn it to hell, phpbb.com stopped sending me email notifications when people post here for help. apologies again. where to start.

SirTony, easymod works the best when you don't already have mods installed. but how does it work? will it update every file except the ones it couldn't? if so, i would run easymod, then manually peruse the install guide for the rest.

akilies, are you still getting parse errors? those are the easiest to fix, but may not be the easiest to find. did you run the query at the end of the guide first, and still get that error?

mikee b, it sounds like you have made multiple typos in your installation, as those errors do not look related. at the end, you have:

Code: Select all

 function validate_optional_fields(&$icq, &$aim, &$msnm, &$xfi, &$yim, &$website, &$location, &$occupation, &$interests, &$sig, &$myspace, &$xfire,)
   $check_var_length = array('icq','aim', 'msnm','xfi', 'yim', 'website', 'location', 'occupation', 'interests', 'sig', 'myspace', 'xfire');
there are &$xfi and &$xfire in this array. one of them is wrong.
there are also 'xfi' and 'xfire' in that array. one of those is wrong.

about the blank box you get after putting in the xfire id, check your SQL on whatever file is related to that page. if you can let me know which page it happens on, i can find the file to check.

about the header errors, fixing one small thing will probably fix all the errors that's related to it. find out what the argument 12 is in that function on functions_validate.php. i bet the answer is in there.

I've recently installed the Xfire mod along with the Ad Infinitum and its not entirely working. I've followed all the steps properly. Just the images won't show up where they're suppose too show.

Link to problem:
http://gamersinfo.org/test/viewtopic.php?t=1

On the bottom where the MSN, YIM, and AIM are... There is suppose to be two images for Xfire there. They're not showing. I know its the template that's messing up here, because I installed the Xfire mod on just the regular SubSilver template and it worked perfectly. ( Yes, I did update the Ad Infinitum templates files, so it would work with the Xfire mod. )

I also placed the images in the Ad Infinitum image/lang_english folder, so I know the images are linking properly.

If anyone could tell me why the images won't display properly. I would appreciate it.

looks like it has to do with the template file. can you post the relevant html for that theme?

should be in "viewtopic_body.tpl" between the "<!-- BEGIN postrow -->" and "<!-- END postrow -->"

this actually looks fine. did you upload the images to the images directory for this template?

if so, and it still doesn't work, can you post your viewtopic.php? it's big so maybe a link to it zipped will work better.

there are also 'xfi' and 'xfire' in that array. one of those is wrong.
Looks like he has the miniprofile mod like me.

Will these two mods not live together?

I notice that you use $xfi for the address and the miniprof mid uses $xfire
You use $xfire for something else and places where the miniprof mod uses {L_XFIRE} as well.

I'm somewhat new to this modding of phpbb, but I have plenty of computer/html/coding experience.

I tried to figure out what I had to change to get them to work together, but it's just too overwhelming for someone so new.

If it's too much trouble, I suppose I'll uninstall the miniprof mod cause I want peeps to be able to message and add friends from my board.

Thanks.

interesting. i wasn't aware they could conflict like this, though now that i think about it, it's entirely possible.

i may advise that if you want to keep both, change the variable names in the miniprofile mod. my mod is far larger and would be a little harder to keep track of. this should fix the conflict.

Hello, I saw a post with this same issue but I didn't see a response on how the person fixed it. I have installed this and tripple check everything but for the life of me changing it in the edit profile don't hook. I can do it from the acp and everything goes fine but not in the regular edit profile?

All functions work perfect but this is the only issue?

Please let me know!

Thanx!

what happens exactly? make sure your xfire name isn't being applied to the wrong field in the database, like AIM. which template are you using?

Thank you very much for the quick reply!

What happens is I enter my xfire user name (cscoroner) in the XFire Address: field and click submit, the board then says "your profile has been updated" but then no changes were made?

If I go to the acp and make the same changes there it hooks perfectly. I can then use it throughout the board and it's just plain outstanding!

My current default template is Glass on pbpbb2 version .22. I have many for users to choose from but I'm not going forward until this issue is reolved.

I ran the db alteration and it went fine. I have to assume it hooked because everything works perfect, the buttons are in place and work exactly as they were ment to. There is only the one line in the ucp that says "XFire Address:" between "MSN Messenger:" and "Yahoo Messenger:"

Please let me know! I really like this mod.

I just went in and added my aim to my profile in the ucp and it worked. I then removed it and that again worked so at this point, I'm able to ad or remove all but the xfire from the ucp but again it works from the acp.

Hope this helps.....

each template will have to be set up separately, and the directions will probably differ for each one, especially if it's not a derivative of subSilver. can you double check the setup directions for /profile.php and /template/<name>/profile_edit_body.tpl

if you already have, can you posts links to them so that i can see it?

Thanks for your help with this.

I got it working! Turns out that easyUCP mod was routing the code. I just needed some well needed rest so I could concentrate more.

You have any more really cool mods like this?

I really appreciate all your efforts and support.
