U did not run db_update.php to install the table
i have run the update and this still appears:

Code: Select all

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query config information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1146 Table 'lukeclar_phpb1.SPAM_WORDS_CONFIG_TABLE' doesn't exist

SELECT * FROM SPAM_WORDS_CONFIG_TABLE

Line : 44
File : admin_spamwords_config.php
however, the flag page seems to work
This error is caused by a missing define in includes/constants.php :!:
There should be the following defines...
FIND
define('SMILIES_TABLE', $table_prefix.'smilies');

AFTER - ADD
define('SPAM_WORDS_TABLE', $table_prefix.'spam_words');
define('SPAM_WORDS_CONFIG_TABLE', $table_prefix.'spam_words_config');
define('SPAM_WORDS_LOG_TABLE', $table_prefix.'spam_words_log');

It seems like you either had not inserted the define or you have a typo :ugeek:

Joe do you have a plan to create a phpbb 3.0 version of this mod and if so what sort of timeframe is likely before a version will be available?

tbh this mod has been so fantastic I am scared to upgrade live to 3.0 without it.

Maybe some time in the future - right now I do not have the time to familiarize myself with phpBB 3.0 code. To be honest, the likelyhood of my finding some time for this is quite slim...

Thanks for the info Jo.

I'll put up a mod request in 3.0 as I am sure that there are loads of happy users of this mod who will also require it for 3.0 live. Perhaps someone with 3.0 knowledge may be able to somehow create a ported version.

I would just also like to add my thanks to you for developing this mod and for the support you have provided to numerous people. There is no question that this mod alone (plus your patch to check registration fields) saved my board from thousands upon thousands of spam attacks.

High 5 to you Jo.

Can anyone tell me if this mod will work with 2.0.17? or is .21 a minimal requirement?

This mod works great, except I have one problem.

When a post gets flagged, it doesn't appear in the forum, which is great--however the flagged post with its offensive content still gets picked up in my RSS reader.

Anyway to prevent these flagged posts from appearing in an RSS reader as well (at least until a post is cleared by the admin)?

Thanks!

I created the following mod request for a 3.0 version of this.

So far no takers to port this mod but hopefully there is a tech whizz who will step up to the plate so that this excellent mod has a life after 2.0.

#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
$current_time = time();
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
$post_flagged = (empty($post_flagged)) ? 0 : 1;
Trouble shooted a posting problem for 3 hours and finally figured it out, thought i'd pass it along.

There are mutliple instances of $current_time=time();

If you get a SQL error when you try to post, delete the $post_flagged=(empty($post_flagged))?0:1; line and put it in the next instances of where you find $current_time=time(); (of course after that line)

Help -- Spam words MOD Ver 1.1.3

Post by uw168 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 8:05 pm

Hello,

I have installed the MOD with my forum, but it seems not working. I have already configured the setting and added the spam word list. Someone still post the spam post in my forum. And I did a spam post. I still can post with the spam words and there is no error pops up. Could you please tell me how to make it work?

Here are the spam words - acomplia, Cialis, hydrocodone, pharmacy, Phentermine, Viagra and vicodin.
The URL of the forum is http://www.uswebcity.com/forum/ .

Thanks.

Andy

If it doesn't work for you, then you probably made some kind of mistake when installing.

Ok, I made a big mess with this addon, apparently it flagged many posts... but they were not appearing in the flagged posts section... only pages.. 1 to 31 but all were empty...
Many of my good posts disappeared from the forums.. the addon is showing some table errors when i try to enter the configuration.. and i dont know how to unflag all the posts manually...

Is there a way to unflag all the posts manually... maybe using myPHPadmin ???

Please help.
Thanks

Assuming your table prefix is phpbb_

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_posts SET post_flagged = 0;

I added

Code: Select all

$*
to my spam words, trying to stop dollar amounts.. But it didn't work, the spammer could still do it.
i.e. - $100 $200 $600 etc.

Why is that?
