CHMOD your /forum/files/thumbs/ directory to 777.

Should take care of the problem... :)

No, this mod doesn't have any affect on hotlinked images. You could try this one though:

Small Issue

Post by LarryMiller » Sun Jun 11, 2006 7:37 pm

When attacking an image, I can see "Click For Full Size" below the image however, the message does not appear in the final post.

Am I missing something?

PS Thanks for the hot linked image info.

As a note for those installing this mod that actually want to have thumbnails on their forum you need to create the thumbs directory within the files directory first. Attachment mod doesn't have this folder and there wasn't a note put into the installation of this one to create the folder. So those of you getting a "Unable to open" message you need you create the thumbs folder first and obviously set the folder permissions to 777 or read/write all.

You're not the only one to have missed it - there have been a few requests for it on Acyd Burn's website, here and here. The second topic suggests that the create_thumbnails.php file from the earlier releases still works just as well.

I've sent a PM to Acyd Burn, asking for his advice. In the meantime, you could try the create_thumbnails file I've posted here.

i'm still gettin broken links even with using the create_thumbnails file you posted ... even if that had worked i don't think that's a great solution to have to always run that file to get the broken files to show correctly as thumbs ... anyone get a fix for this yet? :(

For those not able to display the thumbnail...it seems something in the last attachment mod must have changed because the thumbnail creation is not being done so I did this little additional edit to fix that:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
attach_mod/includes/functions_thumbs.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
   if (!$img_filesize || $img_filesize <= $min_filesize)
   {
      return false;
   }

   list($width, $height, $type, ) = getimagesize($source);

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
   list($width, $height, $type, ) = getimagesize($source);

   if (!(($width > intval($attach_config['img_link_width'])) || ($height > intval($attach_config['img_link_height']))))
   {
      if (!$img_filesize || $img_filesize <= $min_filesize)
      {
         return false;
      }
   }

I'm also getting a blank page when running the /scripts/create_thumbnails.php file

when do I run that :?: before I install the attachment mod or just after it, does it have to be in the install folder :?:

Color off in thumbnails

Post by jonathanyeo » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:08 am

Dear All experts out there, not too sure this is my server problem.
I am using SuSe 10

The thumbnail that I created on the post, all the colors are off. Just like
the colors of the pic turn to 256.

But then if I click to see full size, then no problem.

Any idea?

Thank you in advance.

Some of the image is lighter than original one.

Some are even like black and white, yellowish. Is just looks like a PC without a video driver installed. You will see less colour.

Your thumbnail only lighter color?

Thanks

I got another weird problem is.

sometimes the thumbnail not able to view.
i mean, there's no picture on the thumbnail table.

only appear the words "Click here for full size". But there's no link.

i restart my server also same.

but when i shut down the server for one day then it is okay.
