Re: [2.0.19] Smartfeed

If you have not installed version 1.11 on my web site (see my footer) please do. I think I changed column names in SQL queries to support underscores.

I am trying to get a newer version posted here but the mod team is very slow.

I updated to 1.11, the problem with the name is fixed, but I still get the following:

ERROR: column "c.cat_order" must appear in the GROUP BY clause or be used in an aggregate function

It would seem that PostgreSQL 8.1 is being fussy about column names whose purpose it doesn't recognize.

What is the program and line numbers affected? If you don't have that give me the full Smartfeed error message.

I checked my 1.11 source code and I don't see it.

You're going to need to help me track down the error output you need. the postgresql logs know nothing about the php that supplied the sql that postgresql doesn't like, and i'm not seeing any relevant errors in the apache logs for the site. what i'm seeing returned in the browser is at the end of this reply; i will happily find error output elsewhere if you can point me in the right place, or add debug statements as needed.

It can only be happening in one of two places in smartfeed.php so change line 596 to:

Code: Select all

				$error_msg = $sql . ' - ' . $lang['smartfeed_retrieve_error'];
and line do the same to line 875. Post the SQL that appears in the feed when it errors out.

Good news, this is in my bug log. See http://phpbb.potomactavern.org/smartfeed/buglog.htm

See the bug reported 6/29/2007.

I guess I need to not wait for the phpBB mod team and put out a new version to correct this and other minor errors.

Smartfeed 1.12

Post by MarkDHamill » Mon Sep 03, 2007 3:33 pm

Download Here

This is the "I fixed some annoying bugs at last and hope this version will be approved by the phpBB Mod Team, if they can get around to checking it" version. They are busy lads.

From smartfeed.mod:

Code: Select all

## 2007-09-03 - Version 1.12
## - Fixes requested by Mod Team:
## - Non English translations moved into a translations folder. Note: Spanish translation is not entirely complete. Instructions for installing each
## language translation can be found in the smartfeed.mod file in each translation subfolder.
## - Language variables are no longer have hardcoded constants like SMARTFEED_SITE_URL. Instead the calling program substitutes these at runtime using sprintf.
## - Corrected smartfeed_url_body to show proper CSS syntax for width="550px". Should have been "width="550px;"
## - A few $_SERVER instances were changed to $HTTP_SERVER_VARS
## - Bugs fixed:
## - All items in the Smartfeed Bug Log reported for version 1.11 have been included in 1.12. See http://phpbb.potomactavern.org/smartfeed/buglog.htm
## - Forum privileges granted through special ACP access instead of just through usergroup access are accommodated.
## - smartfeed_url_body.tpl finally fixed so template logic will work correctly for PWD_WITH_IP
## - Clicking or selecting the generated URL selects it. This makes for easy copying and pasting.
## - Fixed unnecessary bad first post only logic

Ok, so now I've installed Smartfeed but I don't see what has changed :? Is there something I've missed. I thought there should be some kind of interface to it in the forum.

The interface is called smartfeed_url.php.

Make sure you read all the instructions in the .mod file. There are a few manual steps you have to perform and of course files that need to be edited.
