Not necessarily. The question is, IF the image needs to be processed. If you upload a 800x600-picture and set the limits to 1000x1000, the server doesn't need to resize it.
Also, the uncompressed (!) filesize matters - if that doesn't fit into the reserved memory, PHP can't resize it.
But don't ask me what to change on your server, that's nothing I know anything about.

Have been using UploadPic for a while, and I like it alot.

However, if I want to upgrade my 1.2.4-installation to the latest, do I have to go through all the update-files in the update-folder? Is there no "easy" way to get all cumulative updates from 1.2.4 to the latest release?

EDIT: Nevermind... I went through all the files, implemented the changes, and then uploaded all the files in the different folders (except for translations) to my server... Worked like a charm... Nice to have a button now...

I think you have to check MOD's installation once again.

I used EasyMOD, everything installed ok. I also did the "/install" option correctly. The images are in the folder (renamed as I selected) but are not tied to any user and there is no "gallery"

Check configuration panel fof this MOD in ACP!!! :twisted:

Yeah thats enabled and does work so long as the image doesnt need any processing.

Seems to be a server setting so hopefully someone that knows servers will pop on here and get me in the right direction.

On a fresh install I found a number of template files missing CSS in the forms..

On ANY template file..

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ FIND ]----------------
#

type="text"

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]----------------
#

type="text" class="post"

#
#-----[ FIND ]----------------
#

type="submit"

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]----------------
#

type="submit" class="mainoption"

#
#-----[ FIND ]----------------
#

type="file"

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]----------------
#

type="file" class="mainoption"

#
#-----[ FIND ]----------------
#

type="reset"

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]----------------
#

type="reset" class="liteoption"
This sticks with the style standard and is very helpful for those with dark themes.

Otherwise, and once again, an excellent MOD.

unable to install properly...help :(

Post by jessbee » Tue Sep 12, 2006 11:16 pm

This question has been asked already but I can't find an answer in the first 5 pages of the thread:

After running the install_uploadpic.php AND deleting the /install folder, I get this message when trying to view my bb: "Please ensure both the install/ and contrib/ directories are deleted"

There is no contrib directory??

I can't access my forum at all so I need a solution right away or I need to get rid of this mod. Can I just delete the /mod/Upload_Pic folder or will that screw things up more?

Thanks.
************EDIT*********
Nevermind, I called my favorite computer nerd and after changing some folder permissions, I'm on my way :)

Hello,

I've succesfully installed this MOD, but the following problem occurs. When I upload pictures it works just fine if no resize or rotate function is used. In case these functions are used (need to be used), I receive blank screen in uploadPic window after send button is pressed. In ACP I can see original images (.jpg or .gif) uploaded.

I have PHP Version 4.3.10 with GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible) installed.

Need help on this. Thank you.

REad back a few posts I have the same issue but no one knows how to fix it. Its a server setting that needs to be increased. I think it might be the php.ini file "memory_limit" setting but havent confirmed that yet

Thank you. I test the MOD on different images. In case gif need to be resized I receive following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagejpeg() in .../uploadpic.php on line 200

And when I try to rotate gif that dont need to be resized and could be uploaded succesfully without using the rotation feature, I receive this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagejpeg() in .../uploadpic.php on line 217

jpg uploads just result in blank screen described above.

As I know this imagejpeg() function is available since GD-1.8, so does it mean that the problem's with GD-library?

I have PHP Version 4.3.10 with GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible) installed

Post by Charlie_Lee » Wed Oct 04, 2006 1:24 pm

I have succesfully installed the MOD, however when I view the cofig in the admin console I do not get any labels appear just a form with the various options visible.

Also I cannot see the upload picture link when adding a new post.

I am running phpBB v. 2.0.21 and have installed all file sto the sub_silver theme for testing.

I didn't understand about admin console. What is it?

Go to
UploadPic users
and select yourself.

You will that Upload link.

Also. Read FAQ for this MOD on author's site.

The admin console problem can be seen in this image:

Image

All users are selected to use UploadPic by default so this should not be a problem.

Have read the FAQ but can not find any further solutions for these problems

You didn't add this one:

Thank you for that. That has sorted the admin problem out. Very helpful.

However! (there's always a however..)

I still cannot see the link when adding a post. It just appears as normal with no options to upload an image.

Where should this appear?

Should it be a text link?

Which .tpl file should I check to ensure that everything is as it should be. All users are selected to be able to upload images.

Thanks for your assistance with this.

Recheck mod installation manually.
You missed something.
