I installed MOD Version: 1.2.0 of the humanizer on an install of phpbb 2.0.22 and now have the problem of two confirmation fields appearing. I am completely gassed ttrying to find why. I did see I am not the first with this, but still did not find an answer/fix. PLEASE, oh pleeaasssee I beg you, heeeelp! Ok, maybe not that desperate, but really frustrating. Using both fields will result in a valid registration, but I really would prefer one field ... :shock:

email me for family name needed to fill out and check for yourself.

thanks in advance for any help ...

Send me profile_add_body.tpl from your forum's template directory in a .zip file and I'll check it out for you.

Or, if you know how, look to see that there is only one instance of

Code: Select all

	<!-- BEGIN switch_register -->
	<tr>
	  <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_ARE_U_HUMAN} *</span><br /><span class="gensmall">{L_ARE_U_HUMAN_EXPLAIN}</span></td>
	  <td class="row2">
		<input type="text" name="{S_HUMANIZER_ATTRIBUTE}" class="post" style="width: 100px" size="10" maxlength="15" value="{HUMANIZER}" />
	  </td>
	</tr>
	<!-- END switch_register -->
in that file.

I was getting an ave of say 20 + spam accounts created a day, Guessed it had to be some bots, after I added this mod in my forums, stopped the spam, now I know that one day the bots could get my answer but making a change is very simple. Thanks guys appreciate the good work.

Author Notes: Do not use the example question within this MOD. Only your own individual question will be save!
This is something I missed. Do I need to find this question in the code and change it to another question like "are you an idiot?" or does it have to be a question that the answer will be "Yes". if so where do i change this :?:
Thanks- :!:
Can someone answer this question? I think I missed this, too. Are we to change the "Are you human?" to something else that has a Yes answer?

Your question must be different for example "Do you like chocolate?" because spambots already can scanned standard question "Are you human" and will be "know" his answer. :D You can change answer too.
Example:
Do you hate humans?
No.

another question. Is there supposed to be a text box here? I am not seeing one when I go to register a new account. All I have are yes and no option boxes. feel free to go to www.nakedeskimo.com (it's no way related to nudity or porn) and try to register and see what I mean. I have a couple of other anti spam mods, so I may have a conflict somewhere.

Maybe you install previous mod version. She have a radio butons Yes and No or maybe you have a conflict. If your site is www.nakedeskimo.com, you install previous mod version.

yea, I'm a doofus. I just updated my FTP client and I didn't realize I needed to confirm my upload, so none of the edits made it on the web. Got the new version up and running, now. Will report back with results.

I too had several areas of double text. Not only the Actual Humanizer Question, but also text for another MOD I was using on the registration page - that text doubled as well. Also, some strange symbols appeared at the top of all the text fields.

The problem wasn't in "profile_add_body.tpl as you suggested in an earlier post. Returning that to the original file did not fix things.

It was somewhere in the "includes/usercp_register.php" file. I put the original of that back, and it was fine once again.

I am running another MOD that tells people to NOT place any text in the lower fields (Profile Information section) on the registration page. I assume these 2 mods are now colliding?

My original mod stops all the spammers, since I personally now run my own registration form, and I manually fill in the new account info. But I do get spambots that simply put name, email, and password - those show up waiting to be verified. I'd like to try and eliminate those as well with the Humanizer question, but I can't get it to work - all these double entires.

One other question - does the ANSWER have to be YES or NO? Or can it be other text? (Since I manually input the registrations, I can insert the answer - spammers cannot. No one can in fact!)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

Double check the edits to includes/usercp_register.php, triple check them even. ;)
