I finally got this to work and have the last 15 posts from a specific forum thread now shown on my frontpage.
I also used a bit of CSS to style it up to match my forum theme. To say I am happy would be an understatement.

I have a question: How would you do the configuration if you want to use this with multiple forums?

I dont think you could do it
ie calling the latest stories form two different forums to the one homepage...unless you used frames and could call out each individual EZ content script in differnt windows

So, I'd have to install it for each forum that I want to use it for? Like, if I have a forum for site news and one for outside news, I'd have to install it twice?

Ok, that makes sense. But how about for forums within the same forum site? Like, how this is in the [2.0.x] MOD Database Releases forum, but there are other forums?

Does that make any sense?

I guess it could....you would need to modify it to source the news form two different 'areas' of the forum...or call them out on two differnent pages.
