That would be a usefull feature to have.

I'm starting to get into this phpbb modding malarky, tis fun :)

Oh, here's a link to how I've implemented this mod...

The stuff in the top section under where it says "welcome to my world" is the stuff taken from a hidden news forum using a slightly modified version of this mod, a modded mod as it were

Sorry for the late reply: are you sure you uploaded news_body.tpl to all the templates?

dooglesmile wrote: I can't help you with your problem, sorry. I'm just here to say thank you to Janmarques for this mod.

I've been looking for a way to put thread posts on the index page and using your code, I was able to integrate them perfectly within my index.php file.

I'm not using the iframe way either, instead i've got them loading directly in the page the same way as an include() function would do :D

I'll post a link once it's live on my site :)

Glad you like it ;)

Any chance to do this? :D
Thank you!

You could try it with Javascript, tough I don't have those skills myself.

If you'd do it, and finish it, please post a download link here or pm it to me, since lots of users ask it.

Hi,

I wanted to integrate this mod into my forums... basically I want to have a page just like FAQ but with the news instead. I wanted it to have all the standard forum tops and bottoms and in the center it would have the news... not sure how to do this, Ive tried a few things im way off im sure though.

Basically, you click a thing on the forum that says news and it takes u to a page that looks identical to the rest, just with the news slapped in the middle where the forum index would normally be. just like how the faq was done but instead of faq i want the announcements

Anyone wanna point me in the right direction?

Is it possible to have this mod use my existing CSS on my website and not the forum template?

Also, I want to use this with a PHP Include rather than an iFrame. How easily could this be done?

(Go Belgium :))

I'm very sorry, I misread the questions, tought I was supporting ImageShack MOD :)

Anyway, it's possible indeed to use your site css.

Just open the TPL and delete all the styling. Then insert into your site:

Code: Select all

<?php print file_get_contents("http://www.yourforum.com/announcements.php") ?>
, and it'll adapt (like HERE and HERE)

sir_wimelef wrote: and i made a blank php page with the iframe, and it apear only with the template background color and the footer
this is the link http://www.ccorpse.es/v2/foro/news.php
any idea?

I am experiencing similar issues. Although we use the acid-tech template I have tested with sub-silver by converting the board back to that template, and it still only displays the background colors and the footer information.

*edit
User error on my part. I did not correctly enter the forum number that was to be displayed. The way I found this info was to look on a link or address bar where the address would look something like:
http://......forum/viewforum.php?f=12

That is one way to obtain the forum number you may wish to be displayed.

Thanks for this mod! :D
