It seems that your viewtopic.php hans't been edited at all, and since the error emanates from that file then I suspect your problems are coming from somewhere else...

I used easymod to install the mod and it then gave me these errors so I again used easy mod to roll back the the original files but i then still get the error messages??

No other mods have been installed at the same time and the forum was running fine before installing this mod.

Okay this issue is fixed.

An empty line had been added above <?php in viewtopic.php

This mod works fine so please be aware that it was my mistake and not the author of the mod!! :D

Hi there,

I have just come accross this addon, and it is sooooo close to what i need!

I am in the process of recreating a yahoo group over onto a hosted site running phpbb - in the process i am wanting to go through and recreate all the posts (a mamoth task :s) Is there any way to modify this code so that i can recreate posts and change the user name to the name of a non registered user?

If this is possible it would be so so great!

In advance thankyou so much for your time,

Tim

Hi Tim,
yes - it's possible. If I get a moment tonight I will write you a little hack that makes it possible and PM it to you.

No, and I want to keep this thread focussed on the Change Poster MOD. You can request other hacks in the MOD Requests Forum

This seems like an easy install but I keep getting the same error messages. I am using BBtech

Code: Select all

Yep that's what it was. For some reason when I added the code it created a space on the bottom.

Nice mod and thanks for the help!

A very handy MOD, when a user requires name change.

Another great mod by Joe Belmaati!! :D

This is extremely useful when people sign up for a second time (because they didn't like their original username and didn't think about asking an admin to change it) and posted under both names, and you have to transfer the old posts to the new membername.

When you change the name of a user, the new name will also apply to his or her older posts, won't it??
