Hello, everyone.

I'd like to ask the author of this MOD if there's a version, compatible with phpBB3 anywhere to DL also? It worked perfectly on my phpBB2, but since i upgraded the board to phpbb3, it doesn't work anymore and I'd like to have a similar (if not the same) MOD available.

Tnx for the answer

It is on the "short list" of MODs to upgrade when I start working seriously on phpBB3. At this time I don't know when that will be, thanks.

FWIW, I don't think auto-groups MODs are good for your board. In fact, that's the main reason I wrote this MOD. It's much more efficient. There are so many things that can impact a user's post count, and every time the post count changes you have to decide if they need to be added to or removed from one or more groups... or both.

I wrote it up as a blog post a while back:

http://www.phpbbdoctor.com/blog/2008/04 ... our-board/

Of course if an auto-group MOD is your only option, and you require that functionality, then being a performance problem is lower down on the list of things you're concerned about. :)

I hope to be able to start updating my MODs (including this one) to phpBB3 starting next year. Until then I do not have the time.

The design is quite simple; anyone is free to take the idea and develop it for phpBB3. Until then...

This MOD is only to prevent someone from viewing a selected forum until they have a required number of posts. Making something like this for topics would be quite complex as you would have to track every topic (or post).

I'm sorry, but I can't decide what your question is.

There is no integration between this MOD and the Cash MOD. And this is not a Cash MOD support topic. Other than that, I can't tell what you might be trying to ask. :?

Do you mean so you have to pay to view a topic? Try this: http://zarath.com/mods.php?action=detai ... topic_cost

Sry for my english .Can you rebuild the "Posts-Count Mod" in "cash-points mod"? So if I had 10 cash points, then may I read the threads ... .The same at the post-mod only for cash points ... .

Thanks for clarifying your question. I don't intend to add cash MOD support to this MOD at this time.

However, it would not be hard to do. There is only one function call that is used to determine if a user can see the forum or not. I wrote it that way in order to make it very easy to change the authorization method, which is what you want to do. It would be trivial to change the parameters passed to be user points (from the cash MOD) instead of user posts. You would then set the appropriate point values instead of post values in the admin page.
