Do any of you know what this is about?

Maybe you must upload language/lang_english/email/textual_confirmation.tpl .

Maybe you forget about it :?:

8.5 hours and 13 spambots later. I knew I was getting busy with spammers, but now that I can count them. Wow. Great mod thank you.

Excellent MOD - took care of my problem. I had 10 to 20 fake accounts every day and was wasting hours every week clearing them up.

I posted the answer to the questions in a welcome message on my board.

I just installed it yet I just tested to see what happens if you don't fill out the question and I was still able to register. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks for your response. I followed all your instructions except that I should have mentioned the following anomaly:

includes/usercp_register.php

#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------

#

$template->assign_vars(array(
'USERNAME' => isset($username) ? $username : '',
'CUR_PASSWORD' => isset($cur_password) ? $cur_password : '',

appears as

$template->assign_vars(array(
'USERNAME' => $username,
'CUR_PASSWORD' => $cur_password,

I've also since tried to use EasyMod and I get the following report for the same reason:

Critical Error

FIND FAILED: In file [includes/usercp_register.php] could not find:

$template->assign_vars(array(
'USERNAME' => isset($username) ? $username : '',
'CUR_PASSWORD' => isset($cur_password) ? $cur_password : '',

MOD script line #119

I hope this makes sense to you.

Regards,
Andrew

I am having the same problem as well. Unfortunately I edited all files and there is no textual confirmation showing on registration. I am also having the secondary problem on the other page as well:

Hello olpa

I've translated this mod in italian language, where can i put the files so you can include them in the next release?

p.s. I don't understand why you suggest to deactivate the standard captcha/visual confirmation...isn't that a plus added obstacle (in conjunction with your textual confirmation) to the bot-spammer?

Thanks for this mod,
ostiaxboz

tara10255: as far as I understand, the problem is fixed. I'm waiting for your registration!

Stupidmop: sorry, I'm confused. Have you finally installed the MOD, or not? If not, please re-ask in the bbAntiSpam forum.

Thanks a lot! Please send the files to <olepar gmail com>.

Bots don't have problems with the standard captchas, it's the obstacle for humans only.

I'm also having a problem which might be related to this mod... Here it goes:
I've just re-uploaded phpBB2 (my host deleted it due to spam) and I edited and uploaded everything related to this mod. But now when I try to install phpbb2, it can't connect to the database! I know I got the right password & name so that can't be wrong... Do you think I have to install the phpbb2 first? And then upload the mod?

Thanks!
Milou

Milou, Textual Confirmation MOD has no relationship to the database problems. Therefore, you'd better ask about the database problem in another support topic.

Fantastic mod! I was completely frustrated by the amount of spam on my board and I installed various mods to stop them (Anti SPAM ACP plu a few others). These mods stopt certain spammers but lots still came through and I beg nato suspect that they were human spammers. Until I installed this one. I have it now for two days and it has stopped every spammer. My email box is now flooded with message that registrations are rejected ;-)
10 out of 10 points for this mod.... 8)
