Hi
I installed just like the instructions say and I can see the image and have enabled it in admin but there isn't a box to enter the code into?

Does anyone know what this could be please?

Thanks
Niki

No Image Showing

Post by dgb64 » Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:03 pm

Hi Paul,
This is the first mod I have installed so please excuse my ignorance.
I installed Better Captcha with the help of EasyMod. It seemed to install properly. I do have GD enabled (check www.jayojay.com/phpinfo.php)
In IE I just see the missing image indicator where the captcha should be.
I've just updated the forum to 2.0.23. It's at jayojay.com/trainingforum
I've been at this all day so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David

Thanks for the quick response.

I've just uploaded the 5 ttf files manually into my trainingforum/includes/fonts directory but I still don't see the image. Anything else I should try?

Thanks again.

Did you upload them as binary files? As it still gives this error:

Code: Select all

<br />
<b>Warning</b>:  imagettftext() [<a href='function.imagettftext'>function.imagettftext</a>]: Could not read font in <b>/home/jayojay/public_html/trainingforum/includes/usercp_captcha.php</b> on line <b>102</b><br />

I uploaded them using Dreamweaver's FTP function. I redid the upload using the FileManager in cPanel and the images now show.
My problem is fixed - I think.

Thanks again Paul - your quick help has been wonderful.
Cheers
David

First, I want to thank the creator of this MOD. Installed it without problems and it works great. However, when I try to register, enter all the info and click on submit, I get this...

Code: Select all

General Error

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : emailer.php

I still got registered, but I would like to know if someone can explain why do I get this error and if it can be fixed. Thanks in advance!

why ?

This seems like the most simple mod i have seen yet, but stil it does not work !

I have phpBB 2.0.23

i have copied (several time's)
usercp_captcha.php & fonts/*.* folder with files to the root/includes folder
i have replaced the
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/usercp_confirm.'.$phpEx);
with
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/usercp_captcha.'.$phpEx);

i have watched if GD is enabeld with
<php?
phpinfo();
?>

result;

gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

why o why does it still give's the old gray Captcha ??

I need help installing Better Captcha. I downloaded version 1.0.1 and unzipped it. When I unzipped it the folder (or any sub-folders) did not contain profile.php. Please tell me how to fix this issue.

Thank you very much.
