RescueDiver wrote: I can get this to work on my test server at home (windows 2003 running Apache and php5) but I can not get it to work on my hosted site. All I get is the background.. no text.

can anyone help me with this. I'm thinking that it is some sort of permissions problem but I don't know where it could be.

The site is http://studshouston.com

Navigate to the STUDS Forum and try to register.

OK I sovled the problem... The font files were corrupted when they were uploaded to the server. After resending them everything works great. It has been working for about 3 weeks now without a problem except on a few backgrounds that had numbers and letters in it, the new users could now make out which ones to input. In short, I love the new look over the generic version that came with phpbb.

I cannot download this file. Can someone help me. the Bots are killing me on my site.
I need a fix to prevent the bots from posting on my forum.
Can anyone assist me with a fix. I am using 2.0.21.
Also how can I delete multiple users instead of 1 by 1.

Thanks in advance

:o Another mod file I can't download because the server reports that it cannot be found.

Is there an alternative method of acquiring the mod?

Will an animated option be available in the future?

A lot of spam emails come with embedded animated GIF images as they are hard to read by anti-spam programs when the message is across several frames, fire should be fought with fire. :D

I've tried many mods and alternative captchas without any luck, but this mod has completely stopped all bot registrations on my websites. This mod is incredible. :)

I just used the link you posted (without the extra "." at the end) and it downloaded and opened just fine for me.

I just installed this mod, I like it because it really isn't too difficult to pick out the characters. The visitors to my site should get it the first or second try. There is a point where you sacrifice easyness and security, and I think this is a nice medium. I have the demo of a spambot software called XRumer. The demo only allows 1 site at a time, and you can't customize the post text or anything, but it is enough to see if your security is good enough to stop advanced spambots. I will test the new captcha with it, if it can't register then I know most spam software has been fooled as XRumer is really good.

Also I have EasyMOD 0.3.0 Beta, and this mod installed just fine.

*edit- XRumer was still able to register :( This mod may prevent majority of the newbie spammers, but the more advanced ones, or the ones with 500 bucks to buy XRumer will still be able to spam your forums! I have installed this mod (correctly!!!) and I have the board set to email an activation link (which XRumer check the email and validates the account, the logs in). Then it posted 2 spam messages. If you install this and still have spam problems, then I suggest a stronger more dynamic CAPTCHA. Props to the author though you still got my repect, just the spammers are always 2 steps ahead.
