Re: MOD Install not creating SQL Table

Q1
How many SQL Tables should there be after running mod_table_inst.php?I have 29 Tables before and after running the install.php and the Forum is not accessible.

mod_table_inst.php doesn't appear to be creating the Table in the SQL database?

After running http://www.mydomainname.com/msgbrd/inst ... e_inst.php

I received the familiar error message.

Could not query attachment information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1146 Table 'dbname.phpbb_attachments_config' doesn't exist
SELECT * FROM phpbb_attachments_config
Line : 80
File : /home/u3/dbname/mydomainname.com/html/msgbrd/attach_mod/attachment_mod.php

I do not receive any: "all actions COMPLETED" message.
I think it's a problem with creating the SQL Table?

Q2
I previously had V2.0.6 installed with attach_mod_2.3.9 working perfectly. I've moved to a new webspace host and trying to get the Forum and attach_mod working before restoring data. Is this the correct sequence?

Hoping someone can help - I won't tell you how many attempts I've made nor how many hours I've spent trying to get this fart to work for me. :oops:

Fur

Could someone please help, even with any part of the problem?

I've deleted everything (including all SQL Tables) and re-installed both the phpBB-2.0.11 and the attach_mod, including running the install php, soooo many times, I'm going crazy (well, more crazy then). :?

SQL Error : 1146 Table 'dbname.phpbb_attachments_config' doesn't exist
SELECT * FROM phpbb_attachments_config

Seems to me it searches whitin a table which starts with (named) dbname. which doesnt exist off course
Syntax should 've been : your database name.phpbb_attachments_config

-- Tho I am not exactly sure --

You must check at least:

Does the table attachments exist in your database at all?
Did you run the mod_table_inst.php ?
Note:
This one should be run from install directory placed in the root of your PhPBB
e.g. copy the complete install dir to the root of your PhPBB and run from there (delete the dir after)

now for my problem:

This is part of the output (mod_table_inst.php):

Code: Select all

Running :: CREATE TABLE phpbb_attach_quota ( user_id mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', group_id mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', quota_type smallint(2) NOT NULL default '0', quota_limit_id mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', KEY quota_type (quota_type) ) -> COMPLETED

Running :: ALTER TABLE phpbb_forums ADD auth_download TINYINT(2) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL -> FAILED ---> Error on rename of '.\llsite\phpbb_forums.MYI' to '.\llsite\#sql2-8fc-564.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

Running :: ALTER TABLE phpbb_auth_access ADD auth_download TINYINT(1) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL -> FAILED ---> Error on rename of '.\llsite\phpbb_auth_access.MYI' to '.\llsite\#sql2-8fc-564.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

Running :: ALTER TABLE phpbb_posts ADD post_attachment TINYINT(1) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL -> FAILED ---> Error on rename of '.\llsite\phpbb_posts.MYI' to '.\llsite\#sql2-8fc-564.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

Running :: ALTER TABLE phpbb_topics ADD topic_attachment TINYINT(1) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL -> FAILED ---> Error on rename of '.\llsite\phpbb_topics.MYI' to '.\llsite\#sql2-8fc-564.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

Running :: ALTER TABLE phpbb_privmsgs ADD privmsgs_attachment TINYINT(1) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL -> FAILED ---> Error on rename of '.\llsite\phpbb_privmsgs.MYI' to '.\llsite\#sql2-8fc-564.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

Running :: INSERT INTO phpbb_attachments_config (config_name, config_value) VALUES ('upload_dir','files') -> COMPLETED

Running :: INSERT INTO phpbb_attachments_config (config_name, config_value) VALUES ('upload_img','images/icon_clip.gif') -> COMPLETED

When I use my board -with mod altered files- I get an SQL 1054 error.

Questions;
  • Why is there a rename?
  • Is it really nescesary to change the name of the tables mentioned above?
  • how to solve ;)

Code: Select all

 EDIT
Ahh, I see a bit of the problem;
The phpbb_privmsgs.MYI' (all *.MYI) is the db itself, the actual file.

Wondering how to fix..
The error code = 13 which is: access denied

BTW:
I do a complete copy of all files & DB before I install any mod.
If it fails I simply copy the old files back ;)

Hi earthman, I'm having similar problems. Look here

sorry to confuse - I used "dbname" in this Forum, but used the correct name of my database when I ran the install, etc

No

Yes

Yes, did that - the install didn't create the Tables

is there a way to make it so only certain users of a group can download certain attachment mods?

What if, I made it so only vip members can access a subforum and inside that subforum were the attachments. Would people be able to directly link to them?

You can change individual account settings in the permissions part of the admin CP

I have installed the attachment MOD to my forum which has worked wonderfully with one exception!

When I click on the download icon, I am taken to a new page which produces the triangle square circle icon in the top left hand corner..... no document downloads or shows!

However if I right click, I can 'save as'.

How can I rectify this?

Problems

Post by ciryon »

Hi have succesfully installed the attachment mod, but only site administrators can submit attachments - not normal users. I've been unable in locating a setting for this. The normal users don't even see the interface for adding attachments, totally invisible.

Anyone know what's wrong?

@_RAAF_Furball

Well, it selects everything (select *) from that table..
So when you get this error:
Could not query attachment information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1146 Table 'dbname.phpbb_attachments_config' doesn't exist
SELECT * FROM phpbb_attachments_config
Line : 80
File : /home/u3/dbname/mydomainname.com/html/msgbrd/attach_mod/attachment_mod.php

I do not receive any: "all actions COMPLETED" message.
I think it's a problem with creating the SQL Table?

The table cannot be found

I think there was indeed a problem creating the table

What you can do:
1). Run the mod_table_uninst.php
This deletes all tables created by the mod

2). Run the mod_table_inst.php again

Maybe it 'll work..

File Size Problem Solution

Post by cyberholic »

oha... i found a way around the 2 MB Limit my provider gave me.
but let me tell you, that this way AINT beauty.
It is like comparing a knife to a scalpel !!!

Here are the steps i did
1. make new topic and add an attachment. lets for example say,
the attachment called movie.zip; within this ZIP file, there is ONLY
a small 1 or 2 kb size text file.

2. submit the topic with the attachment

3. check your FTP and in the FILE directory search for the movie.zip.
in my case it was changed into movie_129.zip

4. change your local BIG file with the new name and upload it overwriting
the small file.

thats all!

ATTENTION: you have to get into you database (e.g. phpmyadmin)
and change some stuff in the ATTACHMENT DESCRIPTION table;
just in case that you want the file information to be show correctly
on your board!

PLEASE!!!!
Can someone of you tell me - as i am an awful noob - if this way is ok,
or if it would mess up a lot!?

thnx in advance,

carlos

Hello!

I'm sorry, if the answer to my problem is written in here, but on the last ten sites nothing looked like :)

I'm trying to install this mod together with the new mod-cat_hierarchy. After installing the cat-mod, I couldn't find some of the lines to change for attach-mod...

Any ideas on how to solve this?

I'm trying to set up a new board, so 'everything' is possible...

Thanks in advance for any kind of assistance.
