Great MOD! I just upgraded from 2.3.11 to 2.3.12 (just updated the files that were new, ran the update install) was pretty simple. Thanks!

I'm looking for a change to the attachment mod, but with 508 pages i don;t know if anybody else has requested it!!

What i would like to do is set up the Attachment mod to ignore all the file settings if the person is an admin

i.e. as admin i would like to be able to upload any file extension even if it is not allowed in the Extension Groups Control, and i would also like it to ignore the max upload file size

Would this be possible??
Cheers

Problem With Files Over 2MB

Post by pwel » Thu Apr 21, 2005 11:29 am

Hi,

Great mod! Installed like a a dream!

However, I seem to be having problems with any kind of document over 2MB?

I have checked the Quota values, and the maximum file sizes for all extensions, and no matter how high I set them, it just fails with one of the follolwing messages:-

no postmode specifed
unable to upload document, source file not uploaded

Any sugestions guys?

Cheers,

Paul.

Make sure your file that you are sending attachments to has a chmod of 777

This is a great MOD!!!!

However, I think I did something wrong...
when I enable this option
Show new Attachment Posting Control Panel
Choose whether to display the Attachment Posting Control Panel (yes) or the old method with two Boxes for Attaching Files and editing your posted Attachments (no) within your Posting Screen. The look of it is very hard to explain, therefore it's best to try it out.

I only see one button which is "Add an attachment"
The "Posted Attachments" is missing.....

And I don't know where I should go to look in my code
Please help me!!!!!

Is there an attachment already there? The POSTED ATTACHMENTS button will only show if there are attachments posted. Otherwise all you will see is add attachment...

Add an atachment, then goto EDIT your post, you will see the posted attachments button appear, then you will also see more options, delete attachment, upload new version of attachemnt..etc..

Ok I've emailed the developer of this but haven't heard back from him yet and I'm in a bit of an emergency. I hope someone here can help me out with this.

I installed this mod a long time ago and it works great, but the one annoyance it has is that when you add multiple images to a post, it will put them side by side instead of stacking them on top of each other with line breaks. This screws up the formatting of my site and I get a horizontal scroll bar.

I am not well versed in coding so looking at the code is driving me nuts as far as where to alter it to allow it to add 2 line breaks between each image. Can someone please tell me which file to go into (I'm assuming it's the "displaying.php" file) and what do I add to what part of the code to get this to stack the images vertically instead of side by side? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also the version I have is .9 and not .12, what differences are there between the two and what needs to be updated in my version to get it to .12. Thank you again!!

OK gents got one for you all...

I have updated to the newest version.
This problem was happening in the older one also.

Some of my users cant post in ONE thread. THey dont see the buttons to post.
I can post there and have posted pics there...however I am the admin!

This thread is the FIRST thread on the entire board in a PRIVATE section for members only. They can post in ALL the other threads in the same PRIVATE section, and all public threads....just this one wont let them.??!?

Any ideas

WELL I fixed this problem by createing a new thread, delteing the old one, and moving all its contents to the new one...now everyone can add attachments?!?!?! 8O

I have just upgraded from .11 to .12
While testing I noticed a problem.

As a test, I uploaded a 64x64 .gif in a post. In the preview and in the final post the image was HUGE. Dragging the image to my desktop produced a 400X400 pixelated version of my tiny gif. What is wrong and how can I fix this?

Make sure the file is not TOO BIG. You need to check your settings in the admin control panel. make sure you have those set high enough to accept large files. If they are set to low and you are trying to attach a image that is large you will get that error.

Check ALL settings (size, max number of posts allowed..etc), and try the TEST button at the bottom of the page. Do you get an error when you test??
