mosport, cherokee:
I finally got it to work by manually changing the files one by one. Using the pre-modded scripts didnt work.

Now that I know I can get it to work on 2.0.17, will this work in version 2.0.4 ?

I dont quite get how the version numbering system works with the phpbb :oops:

You should see how I edited the install.txt file into a .doc file to spread out the steps and make it idiot proof - a work of art! 8)

OS: Linux From Scratch
apache: version 2.0.54
phpBB version 2.0.17
MOD Version: 2.3.14

User1 uploaded 100+ MB zip file, and was succesfully upload. User2 tries to download the 100+ MB zip file....download gets to about 2MB and then stops. This happens any device/browser. I move the 100+ MB file to the root of the web directory, and then point User2 to that link and the user is then able to download the entire 100+ MB file. 8O

I'm at a loss....why can the user not download the file from the phpBB2 attachment area, but can download it from the regular web directory :?:

ok, I have official gone f'n nuts...

i just went through...downloaded a clean copy of phpbb 2.0.17. installed it...got everything set right.

then i went & downloaded the attachment mod, installed that...copied in the premod'ed files...that seemed to go ok.

i go in to check the install....nothing popping up in the post or reply pages....i go into the admin...there's something screwed up w/ the attachment admin (in all the attachment mod admin links...you can see the form fields, but nothing to the left of them).

this is the 4th time i've installed this & failed !!!! :(

does anyone have a clean copy of phpbb installed w/ the attachment mod?

i've ran this before on my other forums, and it's installed fine. but for some weird reason, it's not working this time.

please, need some help bad.

thanks,

scott

Sure do, download here

Just install like a normal board, then after doing the normal install you will have to install the database changes for attach mod by navigating your browser to.

www.yourdomain.com/phpBB2/install/mod_table_inst.php

Hope that helps.

Now my questions, how do I change the thumbnail size that imagemagik creates? I would like them small around 100 or 150 pixels.

And how do I remove those boxes around attached images, I want to remove filesize, and viewed. Thanks for the help.

Go to:

Code: Select all

attach_mod/includes/funtions_thumbs.php
and change the 400 to 100 or 150

Code: Select all

//
// Calculate the needed size for Thumbnail
//
function get_img_size_format($width, $height)
{
	// Maximum Width the Image can take
	$max_width = 400;
And how do I remove those boxes around attached images, I want to remove filesize, and viewed. Thanks for the help.

THis should do the trick:

On the structure display of my phpbb_attachments it states "no index defined".
(see attached pic)

Is this a problem?
If so, how can I fix it pls?

In my forum, I have a portal page, and on this page I have a section that lists the latest posts ('Topic title' by 'poster' on 'date').

I would like the attachment icon (this little clip) to also appear on the portal page next to the topic title of threads containing attachments.

What code do I need to copy to my portal.php and portal_body.tpl files to have this feature? I tried playing around with some copy and paste but have not been able to get this to work.

Any advice appreciated,
Thanks.
