galpal wrote:Hello everyone

I just wanted to say first up what a great mod I thought this was - it is really fantastic.

Everything is working fine for me, but I have a question regarding the layout.

At the moment, my images are displayed with the image title, (ie picture.jpg), then underneath it has 'Description', 'Filesize' and 'Viewed'.

However, I want the pictures when they are displayed to look like this- can anyone tell me how to make my pics appear in this manner? (ie pics are thumbnailed and presented horizontally with only description and filesize beside it)

Would be very appreciative :) thanks

Hello - please, is anyone able to assist me? Thank you

Here's a hack/add-on to the Attach mod of my own design that removes the ghey table border and notation around the image. There is a hack that almost does it, here:
http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/5788

but it leaves the file notation and only removes the border. Mine removes all non-image material.

Sorry, but I can't be bothered to search 786 friggin pages of posts in this topic to see if anyone has already submitted this :D And the search function on this forum is useless as it almost always returns a blank page.

:

It works with 2.0.14 - 2.0.17 as a minimum. Probably more revs than that but I can't prove it ;)

do you have it on your forum? if so, could you pm me the link so I can have a look?

Look in your Admin Control Panel, under "Extensions", "Special Categories". Everything you need to do for image display limits and options is right there.

I found that you can load those TPL file into any HTML editor, and then copy the table layouts from them into a blank HTML document. Edit them to your liking in your new HTML document, then paste the resulting code (table section only!) back into the original TPL file and save-as under a new TPL filename, for safety sake. My HTML editors wouldn't allow me to edit the TPL files directly, but this method allowed me to play with the layouts in them.

If you don't like my layout changes that I made (and thanks for asking this question, or I'd have left mine as-is), try the above to edit each style of attachment display to your needs.

Thanks so much Koyaanis

I have tried this and it is getting there.

However, I still can't seem to make my thumbnail images as small as they are in the sample - even when I go into the admin, the thumbnails are still really large.

Otherwise, it seems ok - but can anyone assist me with making the thumbnail images smaller?

You can set the maximum display size to anything you like. Anything over that size will be displayed as a thumbnail. You do that through the ACP. You may have to create a "thumbs" sub-folder in your "files" folder.

Look for the file /phpbb/attach_mod/includes/functions_thumbs.php

Find this code (near the beginning of that file)

Code: Select all

/
// Calculate the needed size for Thumbnail
//
function get_img_size_format($width, $height)
{
	// Maximum Width the Image can take
	$max_width = 200;
Change that 200 pixels to whatever width you want your thumbnails to be. The height will be calculated from the width that you set.

But this too is dependent on the "Minimum Thumbnail Filesize" that you set in your control panel. (Under "Extensions"/"Special Categories") If the uploaded filesize is below your limit set there, then no thumbnail will be created and the $max_width value that you set in the above file will have no bearing on the image size being displayed. If you want to be sure that a thumbnail will always be created, then lower that "Minimum Thumbnail Filesize" setting (in ACP) to something reasonably small.

You should also enable the option (in ACP) just above that one "Always create a thumbnail", but since that option is dependent on if you have Imagick running on your server, and are not running behind safe-mode, it's also best to lower that "Minimum Thumbnail Filesize" setting too. An average 100x100 pixel thumb (from past experience), can be as low as only 2K in size (2000 bytes) or even lower if they used adequate compression on it. This can only be found by trial and error to ensure a thumbnail will always be created by lowering that filesize limit in relation to whatever thumb-width you choose.

(I may have edited my functions_thumbs.php already, so I don't know if the original value there is 200 or not. I was reading the value from my own file.)

I hope this was clear enough. Dealing with some intense toothache this evening and the pain-pills are not helping my thinking very much. :-)

Does attach_mod 2.3.14 work with EasyMod ???

It doesn't seem to work on my system ... is there anything I should do ?
