Yes, all checked and all correct. I do have a redirection mod installed. It is the one found on this site

The board was fine and all of a sudden I notice the attachments are not showing and up when I check the ACP I find this error?

Did you use the pre-modified files or did you go through any of the edits in docs/install.txt?

Try taking out the redirection mod and using redirection suite instead.

Alright, i will try it and edit in the results

EDIT: Wonderful, it was the redirection mod i was using, it was a simple one

But it seems reverting back to the original fixed it.

No I haven't changed anything. This literally happened out of nowhere. This has to be an issue with my server. I contacted support. My phpbb version just went backwards to .19.

a little help

Post by aerofan34 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 9:40 pm

I get these errors (and more)

Forum Home Installing Attachment Mod

Checking attachment mod storage directory:
files/ Directory found, Directory writeable

Running :: CREATE TABLE phpbb_attachments_config ( config_name varchar(255) NOT NULL, config_value varchar(255) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (config_name) ) -> FAILED ---> Access denied for user 'yscr_bb8Rcm'@'localhost' to database 'phpbb_7'

any ideas? I believe I followed the instructions perfectly. It might be the host not allowing. Thanks!

Has anyone ever had issues with the attachments corrupting the database?

I'm not sure if this is the culprit, but it's the first error message I saw.

Okay I installed the mod on my board. I had another style installed on the board, but switched back to subsilver and everything seems to work fine. I tried to fix the other template to use the mod but screwed it up somewhere. If i just unistall the other template and reinstall it, is there a way to get it to work with the mod or do I have to do the longer custom installation thing?

Even if it did it wouldn't go and change your forum version number or anything else like that.

You'll need to do the edits manually. The edits you need to concentrate on are all of the .tpl file edits. The php ones you seem to have done already.

If you have control over your server then you need to grant create permissions for the phpbb_7 database to user yscr_bb8Rcm in MySQL or whatever database system you're using.

So I installed the backups of the files and the database. I see the files on the server, but the pictures do not show up. Is there any way to bring them back to the forum?

You didn't make the database backup using the backup tool in the ACP did you? You would have needed to do it in phpMyAdmin since that tool does not backup non standard phpBB tables such as the attachment mod ones.

No I do all the backups via Cpanel on the server.

If you've got total control over your server then just change these in php.ini. Otherwise you can try to override the settings using .htaccess files but this would require that the host allows overriding of php settings via this method. Again...in notepad enter this info:

Code: Select all

php_value upload_max_filesize 128M
php_value post_max_size 128M
Change the values according to what you want. Save it as .htaccess. It might add .txt to the end of it but that's no big deal. Upload this to your forum's root folder and remove the ".txt" portion of the file if it was added. If you get a 500 Host error when you try to get to your forum then they don't allow this type of override. Your only other option would be to ask your hosting provider to increase these values. Sometimes they'll do it for their customers...other times they just want to save resources and will say no in which case you're stuck :?

that WORKED!!!! thanks for all the help david! :D
