There's also a setting for that in ACP. By default I believe it's off.

I have been trying to backup my images and to conform to my hosting permissions rules.

1/ Is there a way to split the attachment folder and still maintain the posts. As I have over 2000 attachments and need to split them up into two different folders.

2/ Is there a way in the script to set what the permissions should be when they are uploaded.

Thanks

I'm trying to upload an attachment, but I'm getting this error message when I hit the add attachment button:

Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files

You need to chmod that directory to 777.

Hello,

Would it be possible to upload a file using an FTP program, and then select it with the Attachment MOD, therefore bypassing all file size limits?

Because if I read correctly, the FTP function built into this MOD will only make a copy of the uploaded file to another server, right?

Thanks for clearing that up! ;)

Nope...not possible. And you are correct about the FTP feature. It merely stores the attachments on another server but you're still bound by the limits set in PHP.

You could upload a fake file with the same name and then use an FTP program to replace the fake file with the real one.

Not a bad idea!
So I guess the only "problem" going that way would be the attachment filesize not being correctly reported, right?

Thanks!

Yep...you could go and update the entry in the phpbb_attachments table though. I belive it's stored in bytes.
