It's actually in the Control Panel menu option right above that Management one. Select Search from the drop-down list and click view.

OK, I see the search option for admins now. What I was hoping for though is the ability to have filenames come up as results up in the regular board search, so that all registered users can find files easily. Does it do that?...

No.
Since attachments are not part of regular phpbb, the regular search would not be able to find them.

That would have to be a feature/mod request for 3.0 as this one's pretty much done.

I'm trying to revive a board that has not been used in several years. I upgraded to 2.0.23 from a much earlier version. In the process, the attachment mod seems to have been removed. The attached files and MySQL tables still exist. What would be the best way to reinstall the mod? Thanks for any help.

If you don't have any other mods installed then use the premodified files package on my site (see sig).

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately there are a few mods. That includes Category Hierarchy and a couple of others that I can't remember.

Category hiearchy has its own attachment mod. You'll need to visit pitrhik's site to get it. We don't support his version of the attachment mod here.

Sorry about that. It's been such a long time that I don't remember the distinction. I'll post the question in Categories Hierarchy.

Just in case, I'd like to confirm that the mod wasn't installed before Categories Hierarchy added the attachment functionality. The installation goes back to early 2004, probably around phpBB 2.0.6. The tables associated with the attachments are phpbb_attachments, phpbb_attachments_config and phpbb_attachments_desc. Thanks.

It just occurred to me that I can confirm the tables myself. I downloaded the mod and looked at the table list in attach_mysql_schema.sql. All of the tables in the schema are also in my database so it seems that I am using the Attachment Mod. Do you agree?

It's been a long time since I installed a mod. Do I have to edit the php or is there an automated method to install the mod. If I use the automated method, will running the sql create any issues? Thanks.

The attachment mod in this topic doesn't work with categories hiearchy hence the reason there's a Categories Hiearchy version of this mod at http://ptifo.clanmckeen.com/
