Oh I definitely want and will need this mod!
It's just that I have been doing some testings on a test board before everything will be up on a real board, so for now I can not give you any links to that I'm afraid.

Lately I have been working a lot too. But I will absolutely install this mod in a couple of days from now and will give you feed back. This is a great mod.

I would suggest though that you kinda take it easy and let people discover this good mod and give you feedback on their own.. bumping up this thread all the time and asking for feedback has somehow an opposite effect on people I guess!
:D

Nevertheless, your good job is indeed recognized.

Regards,
Carpe Diem

I only bumped it when it met both of these qualifications:
1. When it got pushed off the first page.
2. When a day had gone by since the last post.
I think I will continue to use this procedure, because I need the publicity. ;)

please dont bump this topic!

your not allowed todo that here, i know you want your MOD to be used by other people. but if they want the MOD then they will find it, only bump when you update please, you dont see everyone else doing it,

maybe you should try and get this MOD vaildated then it will be put in a smaller forum and in the catDB where it is likely to get more attention.

:)

That's because people use everyone else's. :cry:

Be sure to read all above updates.

I would appreciate if you could test this version out and provide feedback both here and at SourceForge.net. If you are not willing to do this, please use Version 1.0.4 until the next stable version is released. Thank you.

If you've already installed the MOD and you have left the New Post Type as "Special" then do the following:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
includes/constants.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
// Begin New Post Type MOD
define('POST_SPECIAL', 4);
// End New Post Type MOD
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH]------------------------------------------
#
// Begin New Post Type MOD
define('POST_SPECIAL', 0);
// End New Post Type MOD
I'm not sure if that will work, but it's worth a try. :D

Yeah, that would make sense, but I have no idea how to do this. I can't figure where it's defined that Stickys stay on top.... Anyone know?

OK, I think I have a solution, but this may give a problem with the rest of the files.... Actually... this solution won't help much.... It will cause the Special posts to go underneath the stickys and such, but still above the normal posts... I don't know if there is a way to it the way you want. Anyway, try this:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
includes/constants.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
// Topic types
define('POST_NORMAL', 0);
define('POST_STICKY', 1);
define('POST_ANNOUNCE', 2);
define('POST_GLOBAL_ANNOUNCE', 3);
// Begin New Post Type MOD
define('POST_SPECIAL', 4);
// End New Post Type MOD
#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
// Topic types
define('POST_NORMAL', 0);
// Begin New Post Type MOD
define('POST_SPECIAL', 1);
// End New Post Type MOD
define('POST_STICKY', 2);
define('POST_ANNOUNCE', 3);
define('POST_GLOBAL_ANNOUNCE', 4);
Let me know what happens.

What do you mean by that? Everyone elses??? You mean people use other mods like this from another author or do you mean that people use other type of mods?

Man now you are whinning.
:evil:

Would you cut this out and be happy instead?? So everybody here is supposed to jump on all your mods without blinking and praise you for them?!

Well those of us who are using it or will do it are.. some have already been given you feedbacks and the mod seems to be working just fine and it's very useful, due to the fact that you actually can modify how many special topic types you want to add to your board.. it's great man! You should be real happy to have come up with such a useful mod. Why are you soaking?!

Please cheer up.
I meant no disrespect asking that question, was just curious since I did not understand what you meant.. your "tone" when replying was pretty harsh.. take it easy m8.

I just tested and installed another mod of yours (topic title shows when posting) and that was another mod I really needed and I praised you for it as well. You do great job.

The reason I still have not installed your mod on my testboard is due to lack of time. This one takes a lot of modifying to files and also I want to see whether other mods already installed go well with eachother before I actcully go and install more complicated mods... so that's why.

So please treat others with the same respect they treat you. Or else no one would care about your mods at all. Saying "I need the publicity" is a very childish way of promoting yourself or your mods IMHO. That brings down your already great job which you're doing, and believe it or not, your work is appreciated a lot.

Cheers.

Regards,
Carpe Diem
