Thanks :-)

I'd like to make it as easy as possible, at the same time, there needs to be a balance of requirements to make things actually work, aside from that, i usually try to make my user interfaces as easy as possible for users. It saves time in support in the long run.

If i go forward with the auto-detect stuff i've currently got partially implemented, then MOD authors won't be required to write installation scripts, just to copy the file into the cron directory, and tell the user to activate it via the pseudcron adminCP. All that would be required is some small header code, not unlike the setmodules code that you see in all the admin panels.

CM 2.1 is rolling along quite nicely right now, i hope to get it out soon and be able to get back on this project.

How to include Pseudocron in my optimize database MOD?
http://www.quellicheilpc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1769

I have not understood as I can recall a function of optimize database through pseudocrontab.

not recently unfortunately. I need to get CM2.1 done still, and school and the necessity to sleep for more than 2 hours in a day are getting in the way... (plus i'd like to be able to attend classes... :P )

:lol: I know what you mean... I was just merely asking since this mod would go nicely with the stockmarket mod so that I don't have to keep manually updating the stockprices. BTW your cash mod is great !!! Can't wait for more of your mods...

Any chance of getting an update?

I have almost finished combining CM2.2.1 and a random shop mod, with my own personal touches. I have a problem that just screams Pseudocron. My mod allows for a queue of items to be "created" one at a time. In order to check if they have been created I have it run a check every time a user views his/her inventory:

Code: Select all

$time_done = $inventory_data['inventory_delay_time'];
for ($time_item = 0; $time_item < $countall; $time_item++)
{
	$time_item_data = item_info($all_data[$time_item]['inventory_item']);
	for ($time_amount = 0; $time_amount < $all_data[$time_item]['inventory_amount']; $time_amount++)
	{
		$time_done = $time_done + $time_item_data['item_delay_time'];
		if ( $time_done >= $current_time )
		{
			break 2;
		}
	}
}
I have a few other applications in the mod that could use pseudocron, and this site hasn't ben updated in over 3 months :(
a+b=c
4a-3a+4b-3b=4c-3c
4a+4b-4c=3a+3b-3c
4(a+b-c)=3(a+b-c)
4=3

Help with pseudocron, please

I guess I am picking this up a bit late but here goes: I am trying to use the beta M2F mod/add-on and I am a bit hamstrung in that my web hoster does not allow cron, so I figure this mod would be great. M2F already has a php file to go out and import new emails. I assume that I would have to replace:

Code: Select all

my_cron_func();
with this php file (it could be a *.php file or *.sh file). I am not entirely sure how to do this - probably need some 'include' statements etc at the top of this file.

Next, I would want to change the frequency of pseudocron to run every minute (or whatever) but I can't really see how to do this either.

Sorry to be such a newbie. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Drew Smith

Further to previous email: I have put a jpg of the pseudocron CP here http://movement-analysis.com/biomch_l/i ... docron.jpg

This says that the next time the cron will run will be in -5 days, 3 hours, 20 minutes 33 seconds.

What does -5 days mean? How can I set this to run every minute?

[Xore: you say no support via PM or Email...are you 'watching' this topic?]
Cheers,

hi,

i've read all the topic but my host is running in safe mode so i seem to cannot do this:

Code: Select all

#/bin/php ...
---

i dont really understand where and how to set up the action to do with your pseudocron (ex: how to set up Netclectic's InputNewsFeeds Mod) :?

Just installed pseudocron.

I get this:

Next cron action
When Pseudcron is set to activate next

1083277341
-1, 23:56:58

Um, is that a date. Will Captian Kirk be hanging around waiting for this?

just a note to those who are curious:

i _do_ intend to work some more on this, i am just gearing my way through my next cash mod release, so this is (as it usually is) on the back burner. I intend for this to be high on my priority list after cm 2.4 is released, tho.

i'm in the works of completely rewriting most of our forum and think i might give this a shot.

i'm thinking i'm going to implement it with a few customizations so if i end up using i'll send over my edits if you are interested.

i'm thinking i may set it up to monitor user content submission as well as for our radio station (taking snapshots of stats and mailing them to a user). essentially i would allow the user to toggle this function. i already have cron so i would be runing it in crontab.

anyways - got me thinking now :lol: great mod idea 8)
