Thanks!

its the bible!... the world is seriously messed up if you have to pay to quote the bible!!

Some translations require certain royalties...such as the NIV and NRSV when used in various programs. This is to pay for ongoing research into the literal words and their meaning, not relying on the KJV translation which was ordered by a king (a secular leader) 400 years ago whose handpicked scholars ordered to translate the Bible (a religious document) translated the greek incorrectly in places...

The KJV, as others have already mentioned, is public domain, so I concede the point :)

Good luck! Gonna release some code for us to play with eventually? ;)

I'm very much interested, the users of my forum have been looking for ways to easily quote scriptures and look them up, this is definately a step in the right direction

Cool Mod :!:

But I do wish to address a concern of mine.
 When looking up a particular verse, only that single verse is displayed!
  • It's very tedious to 'go back', 'select the same book', and 'look for that same verse' every time you want to read the verse in its grater context. Researching it this way, only serves to discourage novices from reading in depth.
:?: Could this problem be addressed for the next version?

this is awesome! I love it! Can't wait till it's ready! I agree though about giving an option for other verses being displayed as odo324 said!

Are you talking about this mod?

Just curious! :D

Since that mod wasn't what I was looking for me and a buddy worked this one up. I got a working beta forum up right now if you'd like to see it. If I get enough of a response I will submit the mod here.

[edit] I forgot to include the code for the one oddball book of the Bible (Song of Solomon). It needs its own Regular Expression (or since it is the only book with 3 words in it maybe I can just check for that string). Well the other books are working right now.[/edit]

That's great! It worked, lol! It would be nice though if you could have a bible button along side the Img, etc buttons, for those that don't do code!
