I done this>

3. Install

3.1 Configure:

You need to create a MySQL database and to grant access to it.
This can be done from command line or web interface (ex. PHPMyAdmin)
create database chat;
grant all on chat.* to chat_user@localhost identified by 'yourpass';

Edit file defines.php and set database access:
var $Database = "chat";
var $User = "chat_user";
var $Password = "yourpass";

Set language of chat:
include ('./language/english.php');

3.2 Database structure & chat rooms:

Open install.php from your browser
( like http://yourserver/path/to/webchat/install.php )
This will try to create database structure

This is where the problem begins. WHen I run the install, I get:

Parse error: parse error in /home/httpd/vhosts/rawpower-guild.org/httpdocs/webchat/defines.php on line 115

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: db_chat in /home/httpd/vhosts/rawpower-guild.org/httpdocs/webchat/install.php on line 12

what have I missed that needs to be done?

It seem that your Mod and Fleccy's Mod are based on the same one ;)

I think it could be great if you can work together to make a super

PhpMyChat Mod ^^

(I mean Fleccy's can help you to improve your mod ^^)

What do you think of this JJSmallballer ?

Am I wrong ?

P.S. : hmmmm.....
TommyV wrote: Maybe you should read the rules on how to behave in here, before you post. This thread is about phpBBmyChat version 1.3. Is that what your mod is called??

A new mod calls for a new thread. It does not belong inside an existing thread like this one....

Not wrong too...

You can make a new thread and Poeple will help you I'm sure

Best reguards

Ok JJSmallballer after that rude interuption above lets get this mod back on track. -

What you have done so far is very nice. :)
You are right that a java chat would be better and you are right to keep looking for one. click click click all the time gets really annoying after a while.
I have been thinking about this mod a lot (hence this is my first post)
Why choose to post now you ask?
Reason one is to do with why certain parts of your thread are so wide. :x Thread hijacking isn't nice and isn't allowed in the rules of this forum so lets ignore it and get on with the development.
Reason two is that I recon you need something to aim for with this mod so Im suggesting that you aim for the M$N style chat room ( I know that we all hate it in different ways but you have to admit it is the best around ) with the same features for users and hosts as are available there. This means:

Shortcuts for Emoticons (: ) = :) )
Link to emoticon pop up window containing selection of emoticons
Text appears at bottom and scrolls from bottom to top (accepted way, appears next to the text input box)
Users can go 'away' with click of button
Notice of user entering room, leaving room, away, return, kick
Font options, colour, font, bold, italic
Sounds options for entry, exit, whisper
/me option with [!] button for actions
(Proper bo eats pie)
Profile page links via ¬
Right click on a user options for both users (profile, ignore, whisper) and hosts (kick, ban, custom kick, user host, user unhost, user spectator)
Room filter, word filter, url ban option, auto kicks
User options including, whispers on/off, sounds on/off.

You may have some of these in your MOD by now already, and I know that there is a massive amount of work there, but aim for all of them and you will be god amoung us all.
And if you (or anyone) can impliment them all into a java chat that looks good and works well then I will send you a donation for your time well spent.
Good luck JJ. Many of us are behind you all the way. :D

I think thats a great idea (MSN style), and on the left side, I could have a menu of links to other parts of the users site. Can you PM me later and I need to talk about this more...

Thanks for all those lovly pics. They swamped my question. Now can we please get back to the mod which this thread relates to, and not one that hasn't even been released yet - and belongs in a seperate thread. (can someone either delete the unneccesary parts of this thread, or split it.)

My question:

You do not run install.php or setup.php. Here is what you do...

Run the querris that are in the install file. (phpmyadmin - go to ur database and click on sql, then copy paste it all.)
Then, open config.lib.php and fill in the proper database info.
Upload ALL files. Including the picture for the header and chatlink.php to the phpbb folder.
