OK... after a couple of days... I've come upon a simple annoying problem. When my members weren't logged in, they started ignoring people. When other "anonymous" users started hitting the ignore buttons, now everyone is ignored. I had to go in and delete the database table and create it again.

My question is, is there anyway to make it so only registered members can ignore each other?

If the mods already installed do this:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
viewtopic.php
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
		$temp_url = append_sid("viewtopic.$phpEx?mode=ignore&t=" . $postrow[$i]['topic_id'] . "&ignorer_id=" . $userdata[user_id] . "&ignoree_id=" . $postrow[$i]['user_id']);
#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
		if ($userdata['session_logged_in'])
		{

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
		$ignore = '<a href="' . $temp_url . '">' . $lang['Ignore_user'] . '</a>';
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
		}
		else
		{
			$temp_url = "";
			$ignore_img = "";
			$ignore = "";
		}
#
#-----[ SAVE/CLOSE ALL FILES ]------------------------------------------
#
# EoM

any way to change the icon? instead of using the delete icon i want to change and add an extra ignore icon. i saw this similar mod in phpbbhack but it got some bug so i use your instead, indeed it work much better but i would perfer a ignore and unignore icon instead of the delete icon.

thanks,

Ok, adding and changing icons is like this, if you have an image you want to use, upload to yourtemplate/images/lang_'whateverlanguage' folder. Next open up yourtemplate/yourtemplate.cfg

add two entries that look something like this

$images['icon_ignore'] = "$current_template_images/{LANG}/icon_ignore.gif";
$images['icon_unignore'] = "$current_template_images/{LANG}/icon_unignore.gif";

now, open up viewtopic.php

find the two instances of $ignore_img = '<a href="' . $temp_url . '"><img src="' .

and change the part after to read $images['icon_ignore'] and ['icon_unignore'] respectively

The next release will include graphics and these instructions will be in the mod template form. This is just to tide over those who want to do it themselves in the meantime. Plus it's just useful stuff to know.

Greywolf wrote: I installed this mod, just a few things and was wondering if they were intentional:

1) When I installed it, it didn't contain a graphic for the "Approve/Deny" buttons.
2) When a post was hidden and it was the last in the thread the "new post flag" would still show.
3) When a post was hidden the "Last Post" column still contained their name.
4) This MOD only seemed to work for moderators for me.
5) If all posts were hidden in a thread the thread would show but it would be empty.

Just a few things I found that didn't really help the functionality of the board.

2+3) working on these but running into very similar problems

4)could you describe what happened when attempting to use it by other users

5)There's only one way i can think of handling this, and that is if the topic starter is ignored ignore the whole thread.

Thanks to Ptirhiik - RPGnet-fr Simple Ignore now has ignore button graphics. Also in this release, viewforum no longer shows a topic as unread if the post/posts that are unread are ignored. Index is proving a little tougher, and this is a known issue. Private messages can no longer be sent to users who have placed you on their ignore list. Also, security updates, and a new, and hopefully quicker, way of handling the ignore list that was suggested to me by the MOD Team. Download has been updated and soon it will be submitted to the DB. Thanks for all the suggestions and support!

Ignore now works for topic review, will be included in next release. Also working on adding editable list into profile, borrowing major code from the ban user feature. Any other suggestions, as well as comments from early adopters, is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, was actually already fixed when I was converting that message into a language string. Next release is coming soon. Just need to convert the topic review code into MOD template format.
