Hi,

Some people have been getting errors on Dan's forum, however it should work with the BETA.

I am currently talking to Dan at the moment, I think some things of his phpBB must of changed and affected its performance.

Fleccy, please contact me through MSN or AIM, I recommend a new blank forum, as beta's should never be installed in live enviroments.

Thankyou,

Regards,

James Parmee Morris

I like the sound of this mod and I would find it useful as I am part of a community of Sims fansites. I'm looking forward to a public release.

Though on the side of sercurity would it work if the forum on installing the mod had to register to your server to be able to access the information stored in the database.

Also a server status indicator would be useful.

And regarding other alternative fields, would it be possible to set it so that the admin panel part for the mod scans the user fields for extras and you can then set it have a default for the field, so you'd have a screen with a list of all the fields and then you have a check box to say wheather some information needs to be entered, then the type of field, ie radio button, text field, drop down menu. and then you have a field for setting a universal entry, here's a quick photoshoped image of how it would look and it would have all the fields in the user table:

This would solve the problem of not having required fields as this would insert preset defaults into the fields as the users data was entered.

Wondering if a users passport is using the name Test
And there was already a user named Test on the board, would the user be able to pick a different username when registering with passport?

no this mod checks your forum and passports server to make sure no one has the same name.

if they do it will not let you have it.

You might want to change "with" to "to" if you want to avoid any legal disputes.

Dear MOD Developers,

While we are happy you have taken some of the advice given in this thread, I have locked this thread for a couple of reasons (when this is all resolved, perhaps this will be unlocked)
  1. The download link requires you to register and log in, this is not acceptable
  2. By encrypting this in ZEND, the MOD Team is unable to check for potential security issues. Even if this is in the Beta forum, we take security very seriously. It is very important that we are able to check what is going on, but it is just as important that the users be able to check what is going on
If these are addressed (and other issues that may be communicated in private) we will consider re-opening up this topic. For now though, this topic is locked.
