Everything seems to be working from the instructions you have, I uploaded all the edited files that I made using your step by step guide.

Only I still get this red box showing up where the images are supposed to be.
My question is where does the visual confirmation get the images?
That seems to be all that I am missing.

I have disabled the confirmation right now, but I would like to have it running.

Thanks in advance.

Your server need to have GD Graphics Library installed, the images are generated by PHP & GD

I wanted the code to appear as the ALT text if the user had images turned off or could not view png's.
So, I moved unset($code) to a line after the <IMG... tag is set and put $code into the ALT text. It works great.

But, I'm wondering if that could be a secrurity problem. Could a hacker use the ALT text to do mass registering?
Doh!

Yes it is possible, since it can be programed to get your VC code from HTML, instead of needing a human eye to see the code

Is this what I need?
gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.23 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

or is there some where else I should look in my phpinfo?

Is there a way to make the image smaller? It loads a bit slow on dial-up.
I tried chaging the diminsions in the code, but it broke the image. I imagine I would have to enter base64 data for the size characters I want.
Is there any easy way that I can create that data?
Doh!

Hi sprnv8,

Basically, you need to have GD Support. And since you have it, I would assume GD is functional. I will fully test this again on phpBB 2.0.10 later tonight.

Hi Armadillo,
I don't know much about the image generation script (and I wasn't the author either :P) You might want to get support in MOD support forum (You can't get support in phpBB Support because phpBB group don't treat it as a default function in phpBB 2.0.x, it'a a back-port from phpBB 2.2).

This came from 1.1.2 Guide.
:? :?

Did you happened to open the Chinese installation guide?
The English version is:
visual_confirmation_en_1.1.2.txt
visual_confirmation_en_update_1.0.0_to_1.1.2.txt

I just downloaded the latest version, hoping it would be simple to update from 1.0.0 (installed on 2.0.8a), using EasyMOD.

But there's a "bug" in the update from 1.0.0 top 1.1.2 script.

The scirpt requests (for example):

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
			$sql = 'SELECT code
				FROM ' . CONFIRM_TABLE . "
				WHERE confirm_id = '" . htmlspecialchars($HTTP_POST_VARS['confirm_id']) . "'

#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
				WHERE confirm_id = '" . htmlspecialchars($HTTP_POST_VARS['confirm_id']) . "'

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
				WHERE confirm_id = '$confirm_id'

EasyMOD interprets this ("correctly") to REPLACE the entire FIND, not just the IN-LINE FIND (this is not as intended). The script should use IN-LINE REPLACE (for both occurances of REPLACE in the script).
