Aight, been reading trough so many pages of this post. Getting crazy in my head 8O 8O 8O

The question simply is, in the full 2.0.11 install file, where is the config.php file...

there is no config.php because that file should be in your forum folder when you install a default phpbb, when you replace it with the premodded version, you're supposed to delete your entire forum folder EXCEPT the config.php which will be used by the premodded version

So all I do is install an earlier version. Remove all files, xcept the config.php and then I put all the files from the premodded zip in the folder? Right?

You need a fully functional phpBB 2.0.11 installed before getting to the mod. Note it will be a very good idea to read the authors note in the mod install description, and the explanation on how to use dev211ch pack in this topic before willing to do anything. I strongly advice to work first on a test environnement (including the database) and not directly on the live environnement.

I found a trouble. I think you can test it at home. Give a special (like Admins) user group auth_mod_visible permissions on a forum, then browse the forums. It shows "Moderators: Board_admin". It's not translated.

I did some cosmetic change in viewtopic_body.tpl and in your last changelog, you have change some code...

can i have what you change for coding, i do not want to go back and redo the cosmetic...

if i could know what you change, i could do it.

Thanxs

Marauder, i was in the same situation you are now, but i used Beyond Compare 2 ! It really is an exelent program.. I compared viewtopic_body.tpl from the latest pack, with that of the pack before the latest update, so it found out everything that was changed since. After doing that, i made the same changes in my file :)

----------------------------------------------------------------
A question now:

Say i'm in the index page. Just below the header and above the forums list, there are : On the left "Your last visit was.. The time is.. All hours are GMT " and on the left there are " You have no new messages.. Posts since last vist.. View your posts .. Unanswered posts"

These things are usefull and i want them there.

But i do not want them in other pages!

These table shows as is even if click a categorie or forum and so, and get to the page where i view the topics!

I understand this page is built with topics_box.tpl and overall_header.tpl and overall_footer.tpl.. What does the above mentioned table do there? This table is built in index_body.tpl, isn't it?

Where is it configured what parts of index_body.tbl show up when i click a forum? I hope you get what i mean! If now, i can make a screenshot..

-----------------------------------------------------
And a smaller question:
Has anyone tested CH with printer friendly mod? Does it work?

Right. So all the files in dev211ch.zip should be replacements for existing files? Or should I still delete al the files, xcept the config.php?

Authors note... Wich one is that? new_install.txt?
Ptirhiik - RPGnet-fr wrote: and the explanation on how to use dev211ch pack in this topic before willing to do anything.

Any clue where on the 86 pages this explanation is? :) if not then I will h ave a look somewhere tonight.

> javispedro: noted,

> marauder: indeed, the changes are localized around the subject, and are the same than the one for posting_topic_review.tpl. Do as trv did, it is the good approach to gain some times and do it safer.

The reason I split the subject in its component (sub-title, icon, etc.) is essentially to allow to remove the legend (I still don't see the point to have "Post subject:" when it can't be something else :)), and to allow to move or to change the design easely : a good example is to use another class more visible (ie postbody) for the subject, and add <b></b> around : this will make it so more existing ;)

> trv : the tpl having this is the index_body.tpl. Having them also when you stand in a forum avoid the user to go back to the index to get the "topics since last visit" link ie (same use actually than the jumpbox). However, you can easely add a switch around them (eg: root_forum), and set it at bottom of index.php before the parsing, where other switches stands. Remember if you set a switch into another switch you will have to activate the embbed one only if the surrounder one has been activated, so something like:

Code: Select all

$template->set_switch('root_forum', empty($forum_id));
if ( empty($forum_id) )
{
   $template->set_switch('root_forum.switch_user_logged_in', $user->data['session_logged_in']);
}
