looking good so far, nice work ;)
just wondering on the way this works though -
how many posts does a user have to make to go to the next level?
is it like 1 point per post? or can you change it?

would it matter if i didn't include this in the profile (my user profile is a tad cramped  )

Well this Mod depends on points, not on posts and you configure how many points you get in the Cash Admin Panel.

The MOD works with a special formula, which works nice, the only drawback is, that you have to set your rank changes manually.

But I want to change that.
For the time being the info when the level changes (at how many points) is under the AUTHOR NOTES in the .mod file, looking like this:

Code: Select all

## If you want the rank to change every level, you still have to change it manualy in the admin panel:
## rank 1: 0 points
## rank 2: 10 points
## rank 3: 19 points
## rank 4: 28 points
## rank 5: 39 points
## rank 6: 52 points
## rank 7: 66 points
## rank 8: 88 points
I'll need to find a way for the MOD to do this automaticaly.

Doesn't matter if you include it in the profile or not.

ok, cool :)

lol, just seen the notes about cash MOD there. i've not installed that yet. i might do it and give this MOD a try ;)

ooh, and you need to take the 'easymod compliant' line out of your MOD template, otherwise your MOD will get denied

Well at this moment, the ranks and levels work independently from each other. you can set them in a way that they don't, but you'll need a mod that let's you define at how many points ( NOT posts) a rank changes and set it yourself in the Admin Rank Panel.
I'll change this as soon as I find out how, for the time being just take the rank points I posted above.
you can also calculate them by yourself, using following formula:

Code: Select all

[(log(user_points)^3)+1]=x
then round down x and you have the level.

example for 20 points
log(20)=1,301  -> 1,301^3=2,202  ->  2,202+1=3,202 ->round down-> 3 = level

so if someone has 20 points, they are actually at level 3
that's the formula, use your favourite calculator to find out the levels.

fixed some minor bugs, please update your code.
Also changed the default forum language to english..

having problems with the admin panel.. seems like if you add a new rank, then you'll have to edit it once more or it won't get the info for the special rank and rank minimum...
