Takes up a little bit of space but hey it works.
Firstly grab a copy of PHPBB standalone(latest version) from PHPBB.COM. This first part is to create a minor port of PHPBB, so that the WAP app can interface with your phpbb part of your nuke site.
Unzip and upload the phpbb directory to your webserver.
Open up the file constant.php inside the includes folder (of the phpbb standalone you just d/ld! not your nuke site) in a php editor(zend, dreamweaver)
Scroll down to the part that says:
// Table names
This is where you will do the minor change to enable phpbb2 to operate from your nuke database tables.
The first line says:
this needs to be changed so it now reads
Notice the change from $table_prefix to 'nuke_bb
You need to do this for all the definitions below, but you need to look out for this line:
This needs to be changed to:
Notice that the users table doesnt have the bb preceding users.
Ok once this has been done, delete the installation directory from the phpbb2 directory.
Then you need to create a config file, using the database information from your phpnuke site .
Create the file in a text editor using this code.
Code: Select all
$dbms = 'mysql';
$dbhost = 'localhost';
$dbname = '';
$dbuser = '';
$dbpasswd = '';
Then save it to your phpbb2 root directory.
Once you have done this, the next thing to do is to follow the instructions in the mophpbb zip file.
Remember it is the files, in the standalone phpbb2 installation that you need to alter, not your nuke files!
Once you have done this, edit the mo/cfg.php file to specify the root of your phpbb install, then upload the mo directory from the zip folder.
Now you should be able to access you wap site via your cell at the address of your phpbb2 standalone directory /wap or you could set up a subdomain to reach that directory
