You could rename the PRICE field to AGE in the language file.

Then you would set up....

Category: US/Georgia/Atlanta
Sub_category: Men seeking Women
Sub_category: Women seeking Men

Category: US/Georgia/Other
Sub_category: Men seeking Women
Sub_category: Women seeking Men

etc

Ohh great!...One problem though...
I just logged on to the phpca

There is no search field for price!! Didnt there used to be an option where you could choose your price range?

If you can choose your price range, then you can choose your age range.

thanks for your reply and help.

Folks,

I just installed phpCA mod, everything is OK, but I could not see
my posted ads, when I did a search, they were right there

What's the problem?

Thanks a lot,

Hi there Pete

Wouldn't modding this to say age then make all the fields say age including non personals? :?

Any thought on when or if you may be adding a deeper category structure? I really want to use this program but am chomping at the bit to see some of the hopefull changes.

Deeper cats
Ads by Day rather than month
Paid ads runnign within the same cats as free ads..etc

Great program ...please let me know
Thanks mucho

Current status is that I've fixed a few bugs (including some related to EASYMOD) and submitted the mod for approval (v0.5.4).

The version available for download on my website is v0.5.3. Once I've finished the v0.5.3 => v0.5.4 upgrade scripts I'll make v0.5.4 available for download.

In the meantime you'll have to install the mod manually. There are a couple of bugs that are described, with fixes, in the bugs section of my board.

Please ask if you have any further queries.

Pete

P.S. Sorry but I have no plans to increase the depth of categories at the present time. Perhaps in the Autumn.

Cheers bud I'd like to say that coding it was a doddle but it wasn't (c. 1000 hours of work).

Hoping to have it approved soon (hint hint).

Please can I clarify this. The core MOD (that allows members to post Free Classified Ads) is free and is issued under the GPL. It is this part of the MOD that I have submitted for approval to become an official phpBB MOD.

There may, in the future, be an addition to my MOD (not GPL) that allows phpBB owners to charge (using PayPal) for the placement of ads on their phpBB. There may be a nominal charge for this part of the MOD to cover the additional support required to get this bit working. This additional element of my MOD will never be an official/approved phpBB MOD. Nor would I use this phpBB board to promote the use of this extra element.

I've posted a few ideas on your forum, but I think an important improvement is to allow html in the description fileds. (i.e. allow links etc)

I've posted a topic in support about this (it was closed) so I'm wondering if anybody know how I can do this, or if it can be in the next release.

thanks
