Shoutbox MOD v0.1.3

The Shoutbox MOD adds a small shoutbox to the index page of your forum. Not as formal as posting, it allows users to converse with one another quickly and efficiently. The future, will see many more features, including a permissions system, an option so the administrator can select the number of shouts / posts that are displayed on the forum index page, editing suite, and much more!

Please post any other suggestions you have for the future in this thread :D

I may try this out.

There are plenty of shoutboxes out there, and I was hoping this one was like that one that used to be available for download called phpBB 2 Chat Shoutbox, that, as the name implies, was both a chatbox and a shoutbox. Oh, well.

Nice... something different from Niels. I always thought that the text box should be on the bottom, not the top. so I will try this. but I will wait for the bbcode features to be available. 8)

Pretty nice mod, if you add the function to delete shouts than it would be great!

I've already added a delete function, all I really need to do is package up the new version :D

It should do beggars, it uses the phpBB bbcode functions, so I assume it will accept all bbcodes.

Sounds great. I tried your download link but it doesn't work. Maybe you're updating it with a new version. I'll definitely try it, though.

Spot on :lol:

I just put up 0.0.4, which has a working delete function.

The last version had a small typo that stopped delete fully working

It will in the near future, 0.0.4 doesn't though.

Peter77sx, I could have sworn I haven't included a refresh function yet :?
Although if I have, yes it would Peter. Mine is the only Shoutbox MOD I am aware of that doesn't use Iframes.
