I have time to work on this mod again :)

I found a bug in the ajax.php file

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
ajax.php
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
function lock_topic($topic_id)
{
	global $db, $images, $lang, $forum_id, $is_auth, $userdata, $HTTP_GET_VARS
#
#-----[ IN-LINE REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
function lock_topic($topic_id)
{
	global $db, $images, $lang, $forum_id, $is_auth, $userdata, $HTTP_GET_VARS, $phpEx

i used a vbulletin board for 5 minutes and let me tell you: they use ajax/javascript to make the whole board experience just GREAT... I don't remember what were the exact features but stuff like quick reply, quick edit and such are just great. If you have a chance try to browse trough a vbulletin board (don't know if it's default or needs a mod) to get some ideas

So, let's all contribute so that this mod can bring phpBB to the Ajax world :)

P.S. - for my ajax stuff i'm using the prototype framework (javascript framework), it's the framework ruby on rails is using/developing and right now there are a bunch of documentation about it. Then i just do the php file to retrieve results and there you go.

sorry for this off-topic :)

Is this safe to install on a live environment? You do have RC, but it's still in Dev.

Well, the describtion of this forum says:
(No code within this forum should be used within a live environment!)
So that'd say enough I think...
