According to my Linux command line program 'file' all his files are MPEG encoded and NOT text.

Code: Select all

[sgrayban@localhost Registration Agreement Terms Editor 0.0.1]
$ file install.txt
install.txt: MPEG ADTS, layer I, v1, 64 kBits, 44.1 kHz, Stereo
The developer needs to use a text editor and save his stuff correctly.
Cheers,
Scott

That must be a wincraps program. Nothing in linux open it correctly so it isn't a text file.

However I did mange to get OOwriter to open it but it still wasn't right so I had to manually edit it until it worked correctly as a true text file which it should have been from the start.

No excuse that this should happen if the developer had read the requirements when contributing here.

Scott

Ahem that is Windows. The file is encode in UNICODE due to the fact the user who made this mod is Chinese. Therefore by default there version of Windows uses Plain Text + UNICODE.

And the average user here is suppose to know that and know what program to use then?

It should be plain text. No reason it can't be done chinese or not. I use german and polish but I still manage to save text files in plain text and not encoded with something that the average person can't use or read in window$ or linux.

Nothing in linux opened the file correctly so that is a problem. The only thing that came close to reading it was Open Office 2 and even then I had to manually fix most of it.

Therefore this mod is not usable by 99% of the users here.

Scott

Sorry about installation file of this MOD. I don't update this MOD, because I am working with phpBB3 and not enough time to work with phpBB2.

If you have stopped working on it please make it abandoned and I'll take it over. I have a working mod of this now.
Cheers,
Scott
