That is just to stick the links in the main menu. Those should be easy enough to put in manually.

store

Post by expx »

Hi,
I love the store mod, and I use it on my forum as a downloads section, where people can purchase a program with their points and then download it. However I don't like the way the 'item'/program is deleted from their items as soon as they click the download link. Is there a way I can make the program stay in their items permanently, so they can download it multiple times?
Thank you.

Why would someone want to download the same thing multiple times?

Thankyou - worked a bunch. :)

ETA: Is it possible to have 'special' items for the actual user profile? I'm perhaps thinking of XMB a little here, but you have the ability to buy custom statuses/ranks and access to restricted forums - is it possible for this store?

because if they spend a couple of weeks being active to get the program, and then they click the download link, and something goes wrong with the download, or they accidently delete it or something, they can't try it again.

I'm tired of getting a load of PM's from people asking for points so they can re-download a file...

I beleive you need to set the $amount= to zero in your item.php.

Code: Select all

if ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['submit']) )
{
	// Update users amount of the item the '- 1' after '$amount' removes one item.
	// Change this to suit your needs. Replace the '-1' with 0 if you do not want
	// the item to be removed after it has been used.
	$amount -= 1;

It's possible to do that with usable items. But usable items are mostly created by other authors, like add-on scripts, kind of like phpBB's mods. You can see what items have been created by other authors here.

hmm, that sounds like what I want, but I don't have a 'item.php' :/

For reference..

Do I have to install the 'Contrib' folder first? When I just upload it on to EasyMOD I get:
Critical Error

Could not perform improperly formed COPY command.
copy Custom Title.php to store_items/Custom Title.php
MOD script line #45 :: FAQ :: Report

Ah.

But then I still get that error. :P

Should I rename the 'Custom Title.php'?

That's for usable items. Downloads don't have that option as of yet. If you'd like, try using this Download usable item alternative. Edit the part that says store_mod-020.zip to what file you want to download, change the number as pokerpeer mentioned, rename the file to Your Download.php, and make an item as Your Download (your download being whatever you want to call it) :)
