I prefer a query like :
update phpbb_users set post_count = (select count(user_id) from phpbb_posts where user_id = %user_id%)
I think it's more coherent.
I don't say you may have ERRORS, but you may have differences between 2 values, first calculated (posts table), and second one static (users table).
mr_mo wrote: 2) Do you have to make a shameless plug and prove your point by posting a link to YOUR mod in my post?

I dont want to add a link to my "shameless plug" !
I only want to share my ideas with you, and discuss on how to improve phpBB forums together with good ideas.
But, never mind...

and goog continuation with your "useless" mod !

If you use forum pruning then this inconsistency will already exist.

Well you can't really debug it properly. if you only just release it.

I have done my own testing and uploaded it to a number of different boards, so I am confident that it is 100% bug free :)

Famous last words... ;-)

Did you test with every single database? With every different browser? With all board configurations? I doubt it...

IMHO, it's always best to release as BETA, even if 1.0.0, just to get feedback. And the feedback may not be bugs, but feature suggestions or other things you didn't think of.

It takes anywhere from minutes to hours to days to weeks to get a mod tested and loaded into the mod database. It depends on how much free time the mod validation team has, and how many mods are waiting for approval. So there is no "expected" time to get approval...

Hmm I suppose, but I released a version for phpBB 2. something (cant remember) for beta testing a while ago. Nobody had any problems with it.

It is basically the same mod, with a few slight changes.

I suppose you are right in a way but I think its going to be ok.

If anyone has any feature sugestions I an add them in future versions :)

Well I don't have any suggestions but I love your Mod! Great Job and many thanks. I really needed this to update my users post counts from a forum switch. I also needed it to lower the post counts of SPAMMERS... (don't they have anything better to do?)

It was super easy and works without any problems

Great Job!

You could just go and edit it via phpMyAdmin... Just as easy as installing a mod... Just without the risk of bugs.
