MOD Description: Backup up your database at the time you define, like a cronjob, but the great thing about it is your server doesn't need to support cron jobs. The script will do a complete backup of your phpBB table, then it will gzip it, put it in a directory named backups, and email a copy to you or upload it to a FTP server.
It backs up the whole database that phpBB was installed to. All MODs are installed to the database that phpBB is installed to, so the MOD's tables do get backed up too. and why would there be a size restriction? I just tested the part of the MOD so far that gets the tables and puts them into a Gzip, and the database was just over 6MB and it worked. BTW, my script shrinked it down from 6MB to 0.68MB
The difference is that that MOD will only put it in a directory, but what this mod will do is it will put it in a directory and email it to you. So if your server crashes, it will still be in your inbox
i have a question for you guys, how often do you want it to back up? I was thinking daily. or should i let you choose when you want it to back up in the ACP?
can it save it with the date? so it doesn't overwrite every backup?
All MOD downloads should be back now - Sorry for that and serious lack of support! - If anyone wants to take over or help with any of my MODs the offer would be apreciated as I have little time for phpBB Modding recently!
Again very sorry for not supporting these MODs recently.
I would like to request you for option to chose completed database backup or only phpBB.Thus option for not only phpBB related tables but other tables too.
Second things is option to disable board (phpBB) during backup (and then again aut. enable it if process has been finished) because the process should take a lot resources to complete job, slow down board and some people on shared server could be warned from their host.
btw
Chosing as option when user would to make backup is more than needed (daily, weekly, monthly...)
