The MOD doesn't work with 2.0.17. (You need at least 2.0.20). Due to security reasons you should update your board to 2.0.22 as soon as possible.

I installed this on a 2.0.13 board for someone that just did not want to upgrade and it works fine. With that, it should work on 2.0.17...just might need some minor hacks.

I've just installed this on my vanilla 2.0.22 board but when I go to the admin page I can't see any option to turn it on as described:
3)
After installation the Anti Bot Question MOD (ABQ) is deactivated.
You must activate ABQ manually after installation. ABQ can be activated
as follow:
ACP > Anti Bot Question MOD > Configuration (Anti Bot Question MOD activate/deaktivate)
You may select if ABQ is activated for registrations and/or guest posting.
Can someone suggest where I should find the configuration options and what I might have done wrong which would result in the options not showing?

Thanks,
Geoff

I added all the SQL but I don't know what language stuff you're referring to?

Actually, can someone explain exactly what configuration options and links I should be seeing and where? That might help me work out if I've done something wrong. Should I have some kind of link on the left pane of the admin control panel? At the moment I have sections entitled "Forum Admin", "General Admin", "Groups Admin", "Styles Admin" and "User Admin".

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi gsoper,

you should see a new category on the left pane named "Anti Bot Question". And you don't see it because you haven't uploaded all files to the correct folders. (Or do you use Oxpus' Reduce Admin Navigation MOD?)

Good luck!
Wolfgang

Help! I can no longer access the Admin Control Panel

Nevermind... I found it finally. It was a problem with my overall_footer.tpl file. I added some things to it that conflicted with the MOD causing it not to show the admin login link.

Hello,
I am VERY new to this so I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I tried installing using easymod and have had all kinds of difficulty. I'm using 2.0.22. Here is the error I'm receiving:

Code: Select all

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not query anti bot question mod config information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1146 Table 'richar1_phpbb.phpbb_anti_bot_quest_config' doesn't exist

SELECT * FROM phpbb_anti_bot_quest_config

Line : 400
File : functions.php
Thank you for your help

At the risk of sounding really ignorant - how do I run the SQL query?
As I said - I'm VERY new to all this.

Hi,

you can run SQL queries with phpMyAdmin or a similar tool.

But it might be better to save the code I have posted here in a file named db_update.php, upload it to your server to the place where the config.php is located and run the file by typing in the URL to it in the address bar of your browser. E.g.:

http://www.example.com/db_update.php

Here is the necessary code:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p2975765

Good luck!

Just tried it Wolfgang, but received the same error message as before :(
Any other suggestions?
Would it be easier to re-install the board (I backed-up the database before I tried this)? This is the first Mod I've tried installing so I wouldn't have a lot of additional stuff to install.
