hello,

I think we're getting confused here.
I think spinat is talking about board guests, not registered users. Now for guests you cant let them see their own posts, it defeats the point of the MOD.
Now Saeru is talking about Registered Users, and i totally agree, the Registered Users should be able to see their own posts, approved or not.
*agree
and here is the translation (i hope you'll understand it g) :
- 1) bad/wrong listing of the moderated user :
instead of e.g. 20 usernames on every page, that's very mixed :
1. page : 10 usernames
2. page : next 20 usernames
3. page : 30 usernames : the last 10 names of p.2 and the following new 20 names
4. page : 35 names : last 20 names of p.3 and the following new 15 names
5. page : 25 names : last 25 names of p.4 (no new names)
6. page : 15 names : last 15 names of p. 5 (and no new names)
7. page : 5 names : last 5 names of p.6 (no new names)
so, sometimes new names are not added at the end and sometimes they are. but a lot of pages arise, much more than necessary.
some pages e.g. have only 5 names and others 30 or more – that’s mixed and sometimes even more than in this example.
apart from this mistake an idea : the possibility to arrange the names alphabetical or registered time
2) a user gets a mail/pn, if i take him off the auto-approve-group.
I would like to stop this notification.
3) another little problem :
if a user gets notifications about new answers in a thread, he also gets a notification, if there is a posting awaiting approval – but of course, he can't see/find it.
the user should get a notification after approving the posting, not already before.
4) mistakes in the database :
if you delete a posting and user in the wrong way, you get a mistake in the database which you have to correct manually. with attention, you'll don't have the problem, but the mod offers this buggy possibility.
5) some links in the acp to approve the posts doesn't/didn't work – I don't know, if that's still a problem, because i'm always looking at the post and don't use them very often.
6) an idea, already posted before of yourself
I know the approve mod and tarb abuse mod.
both mods had no more development and both mods could be combined :
approve mod with the wonderful many options and tarb abuse mod with the possibility for the authors of posts waiting for approval, to see them – but only the authors !
so, probably some of these points you know of course, i think.
apart from this, I read something about a post control mod 0.2.5 in the last days. I tried it out and that was my comment to it :
the link above in the navigation with all listed postings waiting for approval is ok and clear. perhaps not necessary in smaller boards or if in the navigation are already too much links, but ok.
the button directly in the postings to approve and to unapprove is very good, I think. an that could be a more clear alternative to the links in the approve mod – however, I've no problem with the links.
but I don't like the less options – absolutely no compare to the approve mod, and I don't like that everybody can see the waiting postings.
anyway, it has been fixed and commited to SVN!
öhm, unfortunately I don't know what that means (SVN), could you explain please ?
I tried to download the mod again, but without the full code I can't test any more.
and a last question : this 'new' approve post mod - how many code has changed since the approve mod 1.0.10 ? is there new code in it ?
greets, spinat
