I did, like you told me to in this post:
As posted Aliniuz, try to add the .htaccess only and test with some urls.

I just discovered that when i try to donate cash (i have the cash mod installed as well) i also end up on a /forum type page. It seems like my forum has been divided across two domains... I really love your mod, mgutt, i think it works great in terms of getting the bots to index the forum. Just this one thing keeps bothering my users.

FWIW, i'll include the .htaccess file from the main domain: http://pokerunlimited.nl

yes, but did you tested it by adding it to the forums folder?

the sub opens the forums folder, right? so you need to put the .htaccess there. But I think you need to remove your .htaccess first (for testing). I think your one causes the problem.

Marc

Please help me because i don't quite understand. I've put the htaccess file that was included in the package in the root of my forum folder. There already was an htaccess file in the root folder of my domain, that's the one quoted above.

Should i attempt to merge them? Is it necessary for me to change the webroot htaccess file in any way? should i try to incorporate any data from the webroot htaccess file into my forum htaccess file?

Edit: maybe it's interesting to note that i've password protected the admin section of the forum. Maybe that's what interferes with the syntax; however it doesnt necessarily explain the "watch this topic"-email inconsistencies, nor the donate cash problems.

Watch this topic and donate cash will follow.

First remove your .htaccess than upload mine to test if the forum works without problems and with seo urls and of course with both "domain with folder" and "subdomain".

Than post urls that produce errors (inside your forums).

After that we try to merge your .htaccess inside my one (this is the easiest way).

We have big problems with the SEO Mod now when we've decided to install the Reputation mod on our community.

I know that you are aware of this since Shadow503 had a problem with the compability between these mods, which he wrote about earlier in this thread. I did not understand the solution on how to fix this though.

Could you please write a step-by-step-guide on how to solve this problem...?

It would be very appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi mgutt,

great mod ;-)

I have installed the seo mod and everything was going ok untill i noticed that from my forum home page the forum category links are still showing as eg viewforum,f,2.html not what they should be showing--> dance-music-producers-f2.html another example would be your forum. your test category shows event-cafe-f2.html not viewtopic,f,2.html this is what i want to do but its not showing like that.

please let me know what i have could have possible done wrong, also is there a reall need to upload the forward.php could this be the reason?

My test forum is located HERE , would you kindly take a quick look and maybe point out what I could have possibly done wrong..

thanks in advance

I need much more input. Where is this mod available? Do you tried to forbid specific file names of the "Reputation Mod"? (you can do that in sessions.php like the install says)

EDIT: solves this the problem?

@ golddust
Do you have changed the code lines like the install says for index.php?

Your test forum doesn't show rewritten urls like "viewforum," or similar. They are normal urls :?

Hi Marc,

I've tried this but there was no difference in the functioning of the forum. As long as the urls refer to http://forum.pokerunlimited.nl everything is great, yet in some instances there is still reference to http://www.pokerunlimited.nl/forum and from that point on things go wrong. I've managed to limit these failures to the occasions i haven't been able to fix:
  • |*| the admin panel is apparently still located at a /forum address
    |*| the login panel is also located at a /forum address
    |*| the donate function in the cash mod refers to a /forum address
    |*| the watch topics problem as indicated
If you could help me eliminate these instances that would be awesome!

Oops, I think I might have located the prob... In my adminpanel the website path was set to www.pokerunlimited.nl and the forumpath to /forum...

Changing that should probably take care of all problems.. Thanks for the help, and: great mod!

Ok i have now implemented your seo mod. Looks to be working fine ;-) Test forum is available to view HERE

I would like to remove the members profile link from the last post section on the index page and sub topic forum pages, I just want the name of the member without linking to there profile. Also I would like to remove the little arrow link next to the members name that links to the post. example would be my other forum http://www.trugroovez.com/forum/phpBB2/index.php

How do i do that?
