make sure to tell me if you can change the font size ok

for some very odd reason, it changed the size the first time i did it, and then it wont change it a second time, even though its correctly updating the database and being displayed correctly in the page source

alright, as far as i currently know, im done with this mod (unless someone requests another feature or presents a problem)

the newest feature is the "Random Header Quotes Preview"

you can see it in action on the test board, as well as the picture in my original post.

you will now be able to see what youre quotes look like inside the ACP. no more going back and forth between pages!

Very nice! Did you update all the files? I have Version 0.7.0 and the size won't change, though the number given in the ACP is changing and remembering that change. Basically, it's all running as it should except that Size 8 displays the same as Size 36.

Okay, I solved my display issue. You remember how I had my overall_header.tpl code slightly different? Instead of the <p> tags, I integrated it into the table with <tr> and <td> tags. Well, once the MOD was updated to include Font Size, I copied my thread of code over, and forgot to include the new Font Size section. All up and going now. Great job man! :) This MOD is excellent.

I've started using this MOD on a live board, and the feedback has been great! :) Seems people really like it, and feel it adds a personal touch to the board. A few suggestions have been made though, which could be worth considering if you're happy to make a few changes to this MOD post-release. Here are the suggestions that I think it could be worthwhile pursuing;

1) Relocate the ACP menu to General Admin, rather than Forum Admin.
2) Have the Preview feature work more like that when posting, where you hit a Preview button and then it appears.

Obviously, neither of these changes are really crucial, since they're both in the ACP, and so won't even be seen by 99% of most boards' members. But they're ideas that have come back to me through administrative staff, that they feel would make it more user friendly.

But anyway, great MOD, and it's been really appreciated so far. :)

well for #1., all youd have to do is this:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]-----------------------------------------
#
admin/admin_random_quotes.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]-----------------------------------------
#
$module['General']

#
#-----[ REPLACE, WITH ]-----------------------------------------
#
$module['Forum']
Number #2 ill work on after i see what fixes the MOD team has me doing with it.

well the MOD team basically said i need to completely revamp this MOD before it can be accepted into the MODDB

but, i really dont see any need to re-vamp the MOD as of right now because the person who specifically requested it likes it the way it is.

maybe later ill make the changes they requested but for now id say this is pretty much done.
