The mod is not compatible with the attachments mod. However, Ralendil did make some adjustments to the code to allow both to work. I don't know what changes were made though so hopefully, he can help you out with this one.

Can you post what you have in functions_admin.php around that line so we can see how its been entered?

Only suggestion you make is look at the old hierachies thread and on page 12 or 13 (or around there) you will see Ralendil has posted a working version with the attachments mod. I dont know what changes he made to this mod to get attachments to work as well so i suggest you download his provided files and see what code he has changed in the same file.

For all the link as we talk about my files :D

http://www.civs.org/viewtopic.php?t=198

=> It is the hierarchie mod with Attachment mod version 2.3.1
The 2.3.2 is out you would have to to the small changes to use it but I haven't time to do that.
Maybe one day but for now I have got too many things to do...
So note that the attachment mod is version 2.3.1 and that you need to apply corrections of the update to put the 2.3.2 version.

Dsl... :oops:

Ok. that line you have

Code: Select all

$total_topics = ( $row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result) ) ? ( ( $row['total'] ) ? $row['total'] : 0 ) : 0;
On an unmodified functions_admin.php it appears at line 121. On a modifed only with hierachies it appears on line 142 (the file supplied).

You appear to have deleted about 8 lines of code from the original placement and are missing about 20 further lines from the placement after the mod.

Can you compare the file supplied with your own and see where those differences are and/or post your functions_admin.php so we can take a look and compare?

Comparing functions_admin.php

Post by tuck » Tue Sep 24, 2002 3:26 pm

The one I have with the one you supplied in the zip, of course I disregard the changes to make, they are correct, but I see other differencies and here they are:
Mine

Code: Select all

function make_forum_select($box_name, $ignore_forum = false, $select_forum = '')
Your

Code: Select all

function make_forum_select($box_name, $ignore_forum = false)
M

Code: Select all

function sync($type, $id = false)
Y

Code: Select all

function sync($type, $id)
M

Code: Select all

FROM " . FORUMS_TABLE;
if ( !($result = $db->sql_query($sql)) )
Y

Code: Select all

FROM " . FORUMS_TABLE;
if ( !$result = $db->sql_query($sql) )
M

Code: Select all

FROM " . TOPICS_TABLE;
if ( !($result = $db->sql_query($sql)) )
Y

Code: Select all

FROM " . TOPICS_TABLE;
if ( !$result = $db->sql_query($sql) )
M

Code: Select all

FROM " . POSTS_TABLE . "
WHERE topic_id = $id";
if ( !($result = $db->sql_query($sql)) )
Y

Code: Select all

FROM " . POSTS_TABLE . "
WHERE topic_id = $id";
if ( !$result = $db->sql_query($sql) )
M

Code: Select all

if ( $row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result) )
{
$sql = ( $row['total_posts'] ) ? "UPDATE " . TOPICS_TABLE . " SET topic_replies = " . ( $row['total_posts'] - 1 ) . ", topic_first_post_id = " . $row['first_post'] . ", topic_last_post_id = " . $row['last_post'] . " WHERE topic_id = $id" : "DELETE FROM " . TOPICS_TABLE . " WHERE topic_id = $id";
Y

Code: Select all

if ( $row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result) )
{
$sql = "UPDATE " . TOPICS_TABLE . "
SET topic_replies = " . ( $row['total_posts'] - 1 ) . ", topic_first_post_id = " . $row['first_post'] . ", topic_last_post_id = " . $row['last_post'] . "
WHERE topic_id = $id";
Hope I'm not bothering too much :oops:

Thanks a lot anyway.

You create the catagory on the main index.
you then create the forum to appear under that
you then create another catagory but this time you place it under the forum you just created.
you then create another forum under the (sub)catagory you just added above.

and so on...

Tuck, i am looking at those bits now...feedback to follow.

first thing you will ask, WHAT VERSION phpBB?
lol ... i am running 2.0.2 but through the many mods and alterations to the pages of my forum, it still states at the bottom of my forum 'Powered by phpBB 2.0.0 © 2001 phpBB Group'
i dunno why, its another of my minor issues which has yet to be resolved.

first of all, i have been running the modified version of 2.0.2 from http://mods.db9.dk/index.php.

here is what i did regarding my Hierarchies 2.0.2.
i created a second template and called it 'jammoStyle' in my template folder. jammoStyle is actually SubSilver with every instance of the word' SubSilve' replaced with 'jammoStyle' througout all its pages, *.css and *.cfg renamed as well. all necessary variables have been replaced and jammoStyle works fine. no problem there.

jammoStyle is the default Subsilve template with a few darker color changes, but since i run the default SubSilver template for my forum, i needed to change its name to prevent conflict and to insure no errors to my users. while i made the changes to the 'jammoStyle' my users posted and browsed with out erros either. that worked fine, no errors there.

i then proceeded with my 'Four SQL database changes are required'
no problem there.

what i had to do next, was vveerryy tedious.
since the forum has many mods, i had to download all the files via EditPlus that had to be replaced or changed for Hierarchies. (those of you that use Editplus know that you can download a file, make changes and its build-in FTP uploads the new file.)
while the file is downloaded, changes made BUT NOT YET SAVED, i access the my web directory via SmartFTP and rename the file with a suffix.
example:
'index.php' is downloaded, changes made, but not saved.
meanwhile, on the server, 'index.php' is renamed to 'index-O.php' so i know later that is the original unchanged file.
back in EditPlus, i upload the 'index.php'
it only takes about 2-3 seconds to rename the file and upload the other, so some poor user of mine prooooobably had an odd error that never occurred again, lol. i hope that makes sense. :wink:

i think i may have messed up on one of the templates.
everything else is ok, except when i enter the admin section and click 'Forum Admin -> Management' it shows me this:

Image

BUT, when i change my template in my profile to SubSilver, it shows me this:

Image

what did i do wrong?

You didn't include the modified *.sql schema files, did you?
