first thing you will ask, WHAT VERSION phpBB?
lol ... i am running 2.0.2 but through the many mods and alterations to the pages of my forum, it still states at the bottom of my forum 'Powered by phpBB 2.0.0 © 2001 phpBB Group'
i dunno why, its another of my minor issues which has yet to be resolved.
first of all, i have been running the modified version of 2.0.2 from http://mods.db9.dk/index.php
here is what i did regarding my Hierarchies 2.0.2.
i created a second template and called it 'jammoStyle' in my template folder. jammoStyle is actually SubSilver with every instance of the word' SubSilve' replaced with 'jammoStyle' througout all its pages, *.css and *.cfg renamed as well. all necessary variables have been replaced and jammoStyle works fine. no problem there.
jammoStyle is the default Subsilve template with a few darker color changes, but since i run the default SubSilver template for my forum, i needed to change its name to prevent conflict and to insure no errors to my users. while i made the changes to the 'jammoStyle' my users posted and browsed with out erros either. that worked fine, no errors there.
i then proceeded with my 'Four SQL database changes are required'
no problem there.
what i had to do next, was vveerryy tedious.
since the forum has many mods, i had to download all the files via EditPlus that had to be replaced or changed for Hierarchies. (those of you that use Editplus know that you can download a file, make changes and its build-in FTP uploads the new file.)
while the file is downloaded, changes made BUT NOT YET SAVED, i access the my web directory via SmartFTP and rename the file with a suffix.
'index.php' is downloaded, changes made, but not saved.
meanwhile, on the server, 'index.php' is renamed to 'index-O.php' so i know later that is the original unchanged file.
back in EditPlus, i upload the 'index.php'
it only takes about 2-3 seconds to rename the file and upload the other, so some poor user of mine prooooobably had an odd error that never occurred again, lol. i hope that makes sense.
i think i may have messed up on one of the templates.
everything else is ok, except when i enter the admin section and click 'Forum Admin -> Management' it shows me this:
BUT, when i change my template in my profile to SubSilver, it shows me this:
what did i do wrong?
<< someone will probably note my use of two different browsers, that is not the problem >>
