Re: [DEV] Awards Mod -> Screenshots

Post by danopia » Fri Sep 01, 2006 7:17 pm

Hey, I just remembered my old Bravenet account. I logged in, thinking it would have been deleted for inactivity, but it was still there! :D

Screenshots
Sry, the editer on Bravenet is really bad. I used the same awards on the 'More >>' example 'cause I didn't write their edit page yet.

PS: I also uploaded my new avatar - hope you like it!

[ EDIT ] I no longer use Bravenet, so all of my posts with images or links are edited for the new (PHP-enabled!) hosting.

Cool! :)

Ok so, im thinking soft coded lol :) So i can assign them the little image through the forum admin.

Also, What i meant about the Username image thing was, it would be default text to someone's username if you dont do anything to change it. but in their profile, there is an admin only part where you can put the path to an image and instead of the text an image shows up. And if the area where you put the image path is blank, then it defaults back to text. Thats just an idea maybe for a diferent mod tho :D

Nice avatar :)

Currently, you give someone awards by changing their user profile in the ACP, scrolling to the bottom, editing the Awards field. It is stored in this format:
Award1Name|Award2Name,a little comment

Everything after a comma and before the bar seperator is ignored, and can be used for comments on why you awarded it.

Waiting for my Internet server to come online, someone hacked it recently. (No, it was a shared free hosting server!)

Ok, when I said that, I hoped they would fix it soon. The server in question is by 5Gigs, and my account is danopia.5gigs.com. It comes with php and mysql and stuff. However, it was hacked 4-5 days ago and no admin has posted in the problem's support thread for 3-4 days. The server was un-deployed 3 days ago.
Don't get your hopes up on the demo board.

Here's what appears when I click the 'More >>' button on the other screenshot:
Image
I'm still trying to figure out why the username doesn't appear correctly. In the screenshotm I was looking up 'admin'. 'r' also appears for every other screenname.

Note I: Please check back to the screenshots page regulary, as I update it without posting here.
Note II: I believe the correct term for 'soft-coding' is dynamic.

[ EDIT ] I fixed the 'r' problem. :)

Alpha ready for release!

Post by danopia » Sat Sep 02, 2006 4:01 am

I finished to form to edit awards. See the screenshots. The entire thing is really based on a different ACP page, let's see who can guess it. It's bedtime, though, and everyone will have to wait for tomarrow. Also, Bravenet have a file file whitelist, and .tpl, .php, and .zip are not allowed. If/when i post this mod on Bravenet, it will be a zip renamed te look like a text doc.

Good night!

Demo board

Post by danopia » Sat Sep 02, 2006 10:52 pm

Demo Board: If you're lucky, http://danopia.no-ip.org:90/phpbb2_sandbox/

This demo board is on my home server. I also have phpBB3, a un-modded phpbb2, and my own forum software on there.
In the demo, click on the Membership link and then a user or view a thread on any forum.

If you want, you can also signup, I don't mind.

The alpha download link on home server: http://danopia.no-ip.org:90/ModDownload ... _0.0.0.zip
I'm working on uploadingg to Bravenet, though my home server, a.k.a. my pc, should be on until 3 AM GMT.

EasyMOD Compatibilty

Post by danopia » Sun Sep 03, 2006 1:57 am

I'm not sure, I don't have EasyMOD. Please tell me if it works.
EasyMOD probably would help - I'm rating it either Intermediate or Advanced.

Cool :))

Will there be a way for admins to make it so one award image per line shows up? And Can we set the amount of award pictures it shows on the viewpost? so we can have like however many images we type in to show up then the "more" link,
Or would that be lots of programming

Thanks :D

Some good ideas here. Have the 'Awards' ACP section, might as well use it.

 Ideas:
1. One image/line ( :?: more details, please) [ MORE INFO ]
2. Configurable amount of icons before 'More >>' is used [ DONE ] [ EASY ]
