Thanks for your advises and sorry for this long post...

I'll modify the template by hand now. I tested the approval MOD and it works well with subsilver template.

Thanks very much for your help !

uncle.f wrote: Thinking about it, though, two solutions for the future implementation come to mind: allowing those who have more than certain number of posts to post freely (without using groups at all) or specifying the group(s) members of which do not need approval.

The second way is better in my opinion as it offers greater flexibility with regards to the user selection. Also, if that is implemented, another feature request (by sobewebmaster above) can be fulfilled, i.e. specifying the group(s) of "trouble users", whose posts should be always approved no matter what.

I cannot spend more than certain amount of time developing this MOD, so I cannot satisfy everybody with all the little nice features. However, the more people ask for the same feature, the more chances I'll have a look at it. This is now a second request for user selection by groups rather than by moderator/non-moderator status. I'd say a few more requests and I seriously think about implementing this.

I'm definitely one of those asking for "your second way", thanks for your work

hi all,

Instructions in approval.mod line 148:
#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]-----
#
, u.user_id
#
#-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]-----
#
$approve_select

Follow question about the integration:
Its the new syntax
, u.user_id $approve_select

or
, u.user_id, $approve_select

?

thx moon44

It is without a comma in between:

Code: Select all

, u.user_id $approve_select

Hi uncle.f,

In order for this thread to be locked and potential interested users directed to the new and official MOD support thread (where the latest and best version will always be available), you need to change the topic title of this thread to read:

Code: Select all

[MODDB] Approval MOD
This way, the moderators will see it and lock it immediately

Congratulations on the validation!

Regards,
Wolf

Note: Hope this is not considered backseat moderating.
