It does work for Firefox. You have to enable "Javascript can change status bar" in your Options.

But that would only work on the index page.... If I wanted to see who was online on the index page, I would simply refresh...

This allows you to see who is online on any page.

Incidently, I have disabled this on my own board. It ended up annoying the users too much.

sorry, i mean better for me, because there is shoutbox on my main page (like mini chat), and Ajax refresh "Who is online" box necessity for me.

On any page - you mean when i viewing the topic and anybody on a some time view this topic too i will see it?

No. In viewtopic, or where-ever, the Who Online scroller will be scrolling across the bottom, so you can see who is online there, without having to go to the index or viewonline.

I would like to voice my support as well for an Ajax box on the main page instead of the status bar.

Also, where did you get that nifty floating navigation pane?

That navigation bar came with the Dusky Green Style

Thanks! I don't know that I'm crazy about the rest of the style, but I might have to see if I can "extract" the navigation pane.

My PHP skills are weak, but I am learning.

That nav slide is in overall_header. In addition, it also has left and right columns that you can stick something into. All I have in there is an image.
