Subforums Plus FAQ
  • I installed Subforums Plus and now my board is disabled
    • You haven't run the install program.
    • Make sure you have copied all the files from the MOD files root directory to your phpBB root directory. You should have in the phpBB root directory an install directory with the install-sf.php file inside.
    • Once the files have been copied, you should be prompted to run install-sf.php when you visit your forum index page.
    • Click the link to run the file and be sure to delete the install directory when done.
  • I don't see an option in the Admin Panel to create a subforum.
    • There is no change to the Admin Panel. Go to Forum Management in the Admin Panel as normal.
    • Create a forum as you usually do.
    • After clicking the Create Forum button, you will now be on the General Forum Settings page.
    • In the Attached To dropdown box, select a forum to attach the newly created forum to and you will now have a subforum.

CH has a lot of extra OPTIONS not related to Sub-Forums. Also it changes so much that it makes many mods nearly/totally impossible to make compatible with it.

Simple SubForums requires eXtremeStyles and doesn't have MULT-level Sub-Forums.

SF Plus doesn't require eXtremeStyles and doesn't break the functionality of most index/viewforum mods. Also it's more likely that you'll be able to make semi-incompatible mods work much easier with this one.

Thank you!!!
I was sulking about not being able to integrate other mods to CH.
And now you saved my day!
WONDERFUL! ALL HAIL!

Btw, i installed the mod and i have some feedback. 8)
Basically it works. I can create 3 lvl of subforum. Good!
Then to my horror~ 8O

create sub forum --- working
create 2nd lvl sub forum --- working
post topic and reply on all forum --- working
showing topic on forum --- not working
showing topic on lowest sub forum --- working

sum it up is.. although the topics are somewhere in my database, but it is not showing on the parent forum or subforum other than on the lowest subforum i created.

"There are no posts in this forum." --- :x i posted 20 topics!!!!! :x

Anyway, i will double check if i missed any codes... checked x 3

That is odd. It works on my demo forum (linked in the first post). Test Forum 2 has three levels with a post in the last level.

What is the link to your forum? PM if you don't want it public.

Bug in functions_sf.php

Hi,

there is a little bug in the functions_sf.php which does not allow the use of other language files (the path is not correct because of missing variables):

-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------------
includes/functions_sf.php
-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------------
function _sf_lang(&$main_lang)
{
-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
global $phpbb_root_path, $board_config, $phpEx;
-----[ SAVE/CLOSE FILE ]--------------------------------

Bye,
Christoph

As many as you want. The number of levels is infinite.
