Yeah, that's where the problem is. I've rewritten a fair bit of that portion for the next version, but if you want a temporary fix, you could replace both instances of the word 'profile' with 'profile.php'.

If you can install and run phpBB, you should be able to use phpBB IM. There's an installer script included that will handle all the database changes, just like phpBB's install script.

yes that means he can't find that page, either you've typed the wrong file name or you forgot to upload the script

Hi Thoul,

Many thanks! That worked great!

The only other probelm I have is that the messenger will not auto-launch when a user logs on (and they have selected the option in prefs) ... you have to launch it manually. Is there anything I could be doing wrong?
I have checked page_header.php and everything looks ok.

Hmm, you might want to check overall_header.tpl, too. Other than that, the only thing I can think of as a possible cause would be some kind of javascript setting in the user's browser.

for some reason my members dont get all their new instant messages....

with the buddylist closed, we receive some instant message popups (default by phpbb) but, after we read those, browse the forum a little, then open our buddylist, new messages pop open..... sometimes even 4 at a time....

almost like the buddylist is grabbing messages and waiting till we open it, and not letting them process as usual messages.... is this because people are sending us messages from the buddy-window?

i know my members are missing a ton of messages because of this....

Probably - messages sent through the IM Client can only be received through the IM Client. The IM Client is meant to be left open so that it can receive the new messages as they come.

Hmm, sure, that should be possible. Anyone want to recommend a sound?

Don't understand......

Post by EremiticWolf » Tue Dec 31, 2002 12:35 am

This I don't understand. When users try to use the IM on my board they get this error.
Sorry, but Instant Messenging has been disabled on your account by the board adminstrator.

Close Window

DEBUG MODE

Line : 82
File : /home/wolvensh/public_html/FNForum/mods/phpbb_im/imclient.php

I don't see any place to activate or deactivate one person's IM. I know this is something I either did, or forgot to put in but I can find it. Hope someone can help.

HMm...
just an error and dont know how to fix it.
When clicking on someones name in the client window, it takes you to a blank page.

where it is:
http://www.mysite/board/profile.php?mod ... ofile&u=51
it should be
http://www.mysite/board/profile.php?mod ... ofile&u=51

anyone know to get rid of those extra /'s

thaks and great mod by the way, very original and needed. :D
